why is it such a big deal to you two? The obsession over such a trivial point is weird.

heres the link - anything you need to know is in there.

You realise that you get money for playing in both competitions? I dont mean group stages or win, I mean the bare minimum.

I would prefer if Fenlon went, he is too good for the job and too well paid, no point paying him off, Im sure he'll go when the right job comes along.

After weeks of speculation regarding the future of the north Dublin club, Fenlon announced the signing of no less than nine players ahead of the start of the new season.

Liam Burns, Anto Flood, Ger O’Brien, Aiden Price, Robert Bayley, Christopher Fagan, Daniel Joyce and former Bohs duo Mark Rossiter and Gary Burke will all be wearing the red and black of Bohs this season.

Despite the large number of new arrivals at the club, Fenlon admits that there may well be more new faces in the coming days. “We’re still talking to a few players at the moment about coming.” said Fenlon.

Anyone know what budget Bohs are working to? Dundalk couldn't afford to retain Burns, the Bohs offer was more than we were paying him last year.

Was hoping it would be 250k or so but judging by these signings could be as high as 500k.

    • Liam Burns (defender), who returns to Bohemians after two seasons with Dundalk
    • Aidan Price (defender), who joins from Shamrock Rovers
    • Ger O’Brien (defender/midfield), who has played most recently with Sporting Fingal and, before that, with Derry City and Shamrock Rovers
    • Chris Fagan (striker), a former Home Farm schoolboy player who has been with Lincoln City since 2009
    • Anto Flood (striker), formerly with Pat Fenlon in Shelbourne and who played last season with Galway United
    • Robert Bayly (striker), who joins from Shamrock Rovers, having previously been with Leeds United.
    • Daniel Joyce (defender), a former Bohemians youth player who is with Reading FC in the English Championship, joins the squad on loan.

Gary Burke (striker), who was in Bohemians’ Under-20 squad last year but made several senior team appearances, has a contract the senior squad.
The following players who were with the squad last year stay on or return for 2011: Chris O’Connor (goalkeeper), Owen Heary (defender), Glenn Cronin (midfield) and Mark Rossiter (defender).

Judging by this I'd say Burns will easily be our highest paid player, can't see any of the other players on that list being massive money, first team football should be a major factor for most of them.

I'd have thought O'Brien isn't far behind Burns, was he not a regular for Fingal? Decent player during his spell in Derry, would've thought he had options and bargaining power.

Possibly, timing will have been a major factor, most teams have their first team budget practically spent at this stage I'd say.

O'Brien was on BIG money at Fingal, Burns' pay at Dundalk last season would have made him look like a peasant compared to O'Brien.

Bohs have to be spending about 6k per week on those 12 players, if they are signing more players it's ****take territory
The Leinster Senior League needs a strong Bohemians

6k a week over 36 weeks is 216k, as I said above 250k wouldn't be the end of the world.

That's before you add in squad players and coaching staff don't forget. And Bohs have a rake of other big expenses (including a bit whack of interest, obviously), as your accounts regularly show. I'd reckon if those twelve players - over 40 weeks usually, I think - is E6k a week, then you're looking at an overall budget getting on for E1m. That's a lot.

Too late into preseason for a 40 week contract. Squad players will be A team squad.

    First part's quite possible alright.

Second part - say you add another ten players @ E100 a week; that's E36k onto your E216k, so E250k players' wages alone. Fenlon's on what - E100k? (I've no idea; I think that number's been mentioned before). Another E500 a week for each of four coaches, say - that's another E72k. Interest of E100k. That's over half a mill already. The Bohs accounts will show the other outlays (legal, referees, insurance, membership, travel, etc, etc, etc) which are usually quite big. So it's still quite possibly getting on for E1m to run the club for the year.

Agreed, however taking those figures means simply promoting the A team would have left the costs at 800k or so for the year.
