Junior Super Cup Results.
Our lads very unlucky against Blarney.
Blarney Utd 4 - 3 Avondale Utd AET
Carrigaline Utd B 2 - 1 UCC A
got beat 4-0 at home to crofton this morning.
we were a disgrace, had striker sent off halfway through first half and were already 2 down.
looks like all interest is now gone and both us and our seniors will be playing in lower divisions next year.
i would not give up johnny g
we were in the same position last year n fought our way out of it
its never to late to pick up points
i know we have a lot of games left but the attitude is all wrong had 5 or 6 of starting xi against carrigaline hung over.
the excuse i thought the match would be called off, unless this changes were in trouble but we will hope.
Especially with numourous teams having a substantial amount of games in hand it isnt looking great for ye, but from personal experience, I think a lot of junior clubs have the same problem when it comes to the hangover problem. The difference between 80% of the teams in the league is attitude and nothing more, thats why its the same teams are there and there abouts when it comes to claiming the league each year, superior attitude towards the game and a wanting to improve themselves and hopefully getting the chance to represent their club at senior level. I think your 100% right Bufc2010 it is a AUL attitude to have
Some big games this weekend Junior, with Everton, Rockmount and Mayfield having tough away trips to Carrigaline, glasheen and Midleton respectively!!
Just wondering on people's toughts on how these games will go??
Reckon rockmount will beat glasheen and the other 2 will draw, with carrigaline and Midleton tough to beat as of late.
Think Douglas might have a battle on their hands to get the title after their points deduction, might not be as straight forward as first seemed.
Bufc and Mr reliable have a good look at our own senior league now bud and ask where they all started! As for a one off it has happened a few years now. As for senior standard most Aul premier teams would be comfortable playing senior 1st div with 1 or 2 maybe in the bottom of the prem so dont come on here with yer Aul attitude whem most clubs i know train twice weekly and play at the weekend. The hangover factor does happen but the same happens up senior let alone the jnr section ye have.
"Build it and they will come"
I think the number of teams from MJL & AUL in open draws each year answers that attitude question!
I think that's a very narrow minded thing to say "AUL Attitude" I can think of numerous teams outside the premier such as Kilumney, Bohs, Blackstone etc in the premier A, Springfield, Carrigtowhill and a few others in the first division that have anything but an "AUL Attitude" as you put it.
Seems like ye're senior and junior sides have developed this "aul" attitude since ye stopped players gratuities/petrol money!!!
and since this is a junior thread should it not be in the junior section??????? or would that be beneath ye!
"Build it and they will come"
just my opinion guys ye dont have to agree
i no plenty of fella's playin AUL that go out drinkin the night before games and that are not to bothered
they just want a game of ball and thats that
at the same time i imagine there are a lot of dedicated fella's playin aswell
i havent just picked this out of the sky, this is from my personal experience
everyones entitled to there opinion and thats mine lads
BUFC, you are right but to tar everybody with the same brush is wrong. That's like saying everybody playing Senior league are excellent players but we all know that's far from the truth!!!
BUFC you've upset a lot of people now HaHa. A bit small minded to tar everyone with the one brush. I've played 9 years Senior and 7 years AUL with Castleview so I've a good feel for both. The set up of teams vary from club to club but also season to season. When teams are doing well they usually have a better set up. I agree some AUL teams may not be set up very well but I could name a few junior & Senior MSL teams who can hardly field teams.
I have been dealing with both League Committees for many years now and if the MSL would only take the 'AUL attitude' it'd run much better. AUL Committee are a much more professional outfit.
Case in point take Central Rovers, some of you probably mightn't have heard of them, old AUL team. They had a good team in the 80's. With their good old 'AUL attitude' they produced one of the most successful MSL managers ever, Billy Cronin. One of the league of Irelands most gifted players, Patsy Freyne. And one of the top referees in the country, Aidan O Reagan. All this with the good old 'AUL attitude'.
I've come accross this attitude alot over the years and I just laugh at it now. Doesn't bother me but you've upset a few on the AUL thread.
