knockainey v atlunkard match is a misprint and it has been re-arranged for thurs nite at half 6.
Not sure why any of the above fixtures above are being played (especially as previous seasons they havent) with maybe the exception of Knockainey v Athlunkard, as I'm sure Knockainey would like to finish in 3rd (and can possibly still do so), where as the other 2 fixtures along with Bruff v Herbertstown have no importance whatsoever and usually the LDMC just issue meaningless games with a point for each team, but this season they seem to be playing out all the fixtures...........maybe its down to the refs wanting their entitled match fees and in fairness rightly so, after all its not the refs fault teams have nothing to play for, and therefore should be entitled to see out the full season.
Also, Knockainey are also down to play Shannon in the Lawson this weekend, so the league more than likely wont go ahead anyway

There was a good few misprints in the paper last Monday. A few games that had already been played where down again and some games that should have been played where left out.
Cappamore 4 Athlunkard 2
Good win for us sunday. We went 1 up in the first 15 minutes when 'o gorman' put through 'fitz' and he headered over the keeper. A couple of minutes later we were 2 up when 'mcloughlin' put 'keogh' through and he again put over the keeper. Athlunkard played a good passing game and responded with two goals before the half. Second half began we both teams getting forward and pushing for a winner. We got on top 20 minutes to go and missed a few half chances. However, 15 minutes to go 'bubbles' took a free kick which the keeper pushed away but 'o gorman' scored from an acute angle. 5 minutes later 'bubbles' put a through ball for 'o gorman' and put through the keepers legs.
Jackman Park sat night for the cup final and hopefully a good result against Caherconlish will bring us back into Jackman Park for a promotion play-off.
we played well in 1st half and were on top but cappamore got well on top in the last 20mins of 2nd half. our midfield got tired in the 2nd half and didnt have subs to get fresh legs on......... both teams missing a few... best of luck to cappamore vs lish but if you miss players on saturday then it will be hard to beat a team more hungrier than we were.... so my predictions for promo are pike, lish and cappamore to go up 3rd.

Anyone know who the officials are for this one?
any result from the cup final tonight
cappamore won 3 2
I'd just like to thank all the players of Herbertstown AFC who have given a superb effort this 2010/11 season. We have ended up being relegated and also last night went down 3-2 in the cup final to Cappamore, but as a bunch of players these lads never ever gave up the fight as was witnessed last night.
The dedication of this bunch to each other is to be commended. We have one player who had a horrific leg break in April 2010 yet was able to come back as good as ever this season. We had players who were out of work yet still driving to Limerick to train and pay the increased cost of training. We had players drive from Dublin & Cork etc for training and matches despite the results not going our way. There were times we were low on numbers for many reasons yet still they gave it everything.
A few lads got together last June and put a list of players together. Those players discussed if it was better to withdraw from the division our A team was in (1B) or our B team (2B) and they decided to give 1B a crack. I'm not sorry they did as they showed great desire to put some pride back into the shirt.
The highlight of the season was probably the semi final cup win away to Caherconlish, 5 days after losing to them in the league. Caherconlish are a fine side who have been surging up the leagues in recent years. Unfortunately we could not repeat that in the final and we didn't play well in the first half an hour. When the players came out for the second half they gave it everything & scored two brilliant goals. Cappamore did enough to win though. One word about their manager Con Barry - you could go to any 1B game that Cappamore are not involved in & there he is scouting. He is a very dedicated chap to the club and good luck to him & Cappamore on their win. We just wish it had been us winning it.
Whoever wins 1B (Caherconlish or Pike) will make worthy champions, but Cappamore have promotion to play for too so their game V Caherconlish should be a tasty encounter. This has been one of the most competitive divisions in Limerick soccer ever seen. It's just a pity our lads did not get more out of the season, but I am very proud of the effort they put in for Herbertstown AFC.
yours in sport,
Peacock.
Well done on promotion to Pike B. Congratulations to all involved. Well deserved.
The Beautiful Game
