Tulla have always been a good hard physical team to play against. Like any other team they have their off days including the manager. They gave newmarket too much respect a few weeks ago and ended being down 3-0. Manager changed the formation. It was a good result for them at the weekend. Still conceding alot of goals though.

The league is wide open this season. Promoted teams doing very well an that's good to see.
At the moment it's very much advantage Newmarket. Points in the bag and good momentum since the avenue defeat. Which will be a big motivation factor next Sunday. Should be a cracker !! I'm going for a draw and whoever scores in e.t to win.
Tulla looked good last Sunday, scoring but conceding a bit too.
Think bunratty and bridge are in big trouble at the bottom and I'm sure if avenue get to play a league match they'll pull away up the table.

Regarding the the issues surrounding the league last week:Nobody likes to see games pulled and the fact it happened twice was wrong but if the teams involved will learn their faith, what happened was out of character in the clare league.Other issus in the clare league needed to tackled quickly like the professionalism with fixtures. The weather last week was poor with freezing condisions damaging pitchs.Certain teams must have known their pitch might be suffering from the elements, but they refuses to commicate with the opposing team about the match going ahead.A team which comes to mind to mind is Bridge Celtic, who three times this year have allowed teams travel to their pitch for the match to not go ahead.Last week Rineanna went down which is a 40 min drive with a couple of players taking time off their studies for the games to be called off 5 min before kick off.Rineanna were togged and ready to start the game. The problem i have with this is the ref was willing to allow the game go ahead once both teamd agreed to it.Bridge celtic thought it was too bad!!!So why didnt they ring and say it was unplayable, instead of wasting people time. They did the exact same thing to Shannon O 2 weeks earlier. They are a joke.Gort travelled down to bunratty sunday morning only for the ref to forget to ring them about the game being off, joke!!! The clare league should make teams responible for this it.
Well if he was sent from the line, why should the ref have to wait 2 mins for him to leave? Just get off and game can go ahead.

of course he should have gone straight away when he was told to but the ref should have had a bit of common sense and realised that he was going to leave and that there was no need to abandon the game, the ref told him to leave he said no and then straight away the game was called off the ref didn't even warn him that he was going to call the game off. Also dont understand how the ref can make up rules before the game started by saying that he was going to give a yellow card for anyone who made a slide tackle, the clare league used to allow 5 subsitutions in the league but they had to change this to 3 because the fai wanted all leagues in ireland to have the exact same rules and regulations but yet the ref can decide for there to be no slide tackles which is a pretty big part of the game how does that make sense?

Are you trying to move away from the fact that yer game was abandoned last weekend?
With regard to Bridge Celtic not calling off the match, the ref made the call that the pitch was unplayable.
The reason that Bridge Celtic did not make the call, was previously they called off a match for a water lodged pitch, the ref was not informed by the league so he showed up and said the match could have started but would not have finished so the league issued the club with a fine.

It was,nt just because he would'nt leave straight away the ref abandon the game, that was just the final straw, the level of abuse he was recieving from the sideline was uncalled for,

Well look you have your facts wrong straight away,The ref said at the peno spot opposite to the school end had some ice.He said he was happy to play the game if the 2 teams were,Rineanna agreed and then the bridge celtic players said ok.The ref asked both goal keepers to agree and the bridge celtic keeper had a word with his manager and said too bad,He then walked away straight away.No wonder bridge celtic only have played a few games in the league if they are selective about what games go ahead.Dragging teams down to brigetown for matches not to go ahead is a joke.

I would have to agree with b777b comments..the abuse from the sideline was uncalled for..he gave a peno..wrong or right...you cant keep yelling out 'learn the rules ref'..

Just to get this straight a goalkeeper can over rule a refs decision.
If the ref did not agree than the match would have went ahead

did you see the penalty that he gave? when a ref is so bad people are going to get frustrated and its hard not to say anything to the ref, there were a few people having a go at the ref but god if the ref cant take that then he should get another job.

Refereeing is not a job. They give up their time to ref the games.

Boys, in fairness will ye stop with the "job" thing. They give up their time to do something they are interested in. Right or wrong good or bad they are trying their best. It's uncalled for the crap they take. And ya we've all given em stick when we played but at the end of the day they go home , they go to work ,they not trying to screw any one. Some refs can take different levels of stick some cant. Doesn't mean they deserve more, or less.

I'm not disagreeing with you Mouldedstuds about some of the abuse some of them get. All i'm saying is if you get paid for doing something no matter if it's your full time job or something you do on the side, i would consider that as a job.

Agree with you here Moulded. We wouldn't have a league without people who take on this. Not everyone is going to agree with a referee 100% of the time but what can be done is that 100% of the time referees get respect. Everyone involved in football will make mistakes whether it is players, managers or officials. How the mistake is handled is the issue, noone has a right to be roaring abuse at anyone during what is to most of us a pastime.

Much as it pains me to say it, we could all learn from Rugby here and how respect is shown to their officials at all levels.

Lads lets all start showing referees a little bit of respect because without them we wouldn't have a league to enjoy. Because they are receiving payment is neither here nor there as with any of us that work we wouldn't put up with abuse so why is it that people think that a referee will accept it.
I'll update this next year.

We have a solution to the job crisis at the moment. Become a Junior football referee.
