Who played well and who was bad. I presume that they are not going to qualify now with only 1 from the group going through

Egan was good aswell I thought.I'd say more than okay.McCauiffe saw a lot of the ball in the first half.Thought Mikey O Keefe would have been a far better option than Madigan. The same be said for Riordan instead of Joyce ,he would have created more chances for others aswell. O Dea was the best of the back four.It would be interesting to see Tomas Geary partner him I think he would push Kelliher for a starting role.He deserves a call up anyway I think.
You would have to wonder would a taller keeper prevented the goal that went straight in from the corner.Quirke was lucky when a striker blocked him down in the first half aswell.Hurleys work rate leaves a lot to be desired.Alan O Shea was at the match, he is a far better player who was overlooked from the squad not for the first year.

Going by the game on Sunday my honest opinion not meaning to insult anyone.. Madigan not good enough, Kelliher not good enough seoirse joyce no brain ( maybe Behen shud have started instead don't know if he was training or playing friendlies same goes for Riordan imo, 2 more experience and far better brains for the game) ...Just to name a few ..As for players not even picked for the squad I cannot comment because I do not know them all who refused and wasn't asked.Alan O Shea is a no brainer for the startin 11 let alone the squad.....Very average squad to work with but still managed to leave some of the stronger players on the bench.... Thomas Geary has no interest which is a pity. Manangement has to be questioned aswell...?????

Anyone know anything about Newcastle Rovers proposed new pitch and dressing rooms ? They had a planning permission notice in the paper a week ago. Will it be operational for the 2011/2012 season ?

IMO too many players played out of position, Lynch on left wing, McAuliffe left back, Madigan Right back.Surely there are players who play in these positions every wek for their clubs! I don't think any of the management have been attending club games!

Ya the only games management do be at are itas b, breska b and kilaney b, you won't see too many players making the grade at them games.....Lynch is past it imo... Eagan and lyons very good in the middle of the park, with riordan and behan two players that must start against Cork shipping in the next game IMO....

Totally Agree sky blue. Riordan and snow have to play up top for next game. Only worry is they both like to come short which gives us no real penetration thru the middle...Saying that I wud still go with them as they are much better players...As for Ray Lynch been passed it...I would say yes also but the left side is not his area as was mentioned...Up top has always been his strongest pos and maybe play him off snow if the 2 mentioned don't work out... Alan o shea shud be on the left or right wing....Defence is a big worry..Appart from O dea they need to rethink and maybe call up a few players ...And not from Breska or Itas...

Riordan and behan have to start up front against cork..he should have switched Hurley an lynch in the second half against Kerry..he shud also look at different players for the upcoming game..maybe bring in shay Lyons from Newcastle west or Sean o Shea from rathkeale as full backs instead of madigan and mcauliffe.John Kelliher is past it IMO and Maurice carrig or Thomas Geary would be better than him.bring in Alan o Shea from rathkeale for the wing

Just walked the pitch tonight at 7pm. Its wet in just one part of it. If we get a bad day of rain saturday it might not go ahead.

ray massey i think would be a good call up he can play both wings or up front as well as carrig from askeaton.massey playing out of his skin for club and always plays 110%.carrig playing great stuff and another player that gives his all on the pitch

Askeaton have a couple of players good enough definately. I agree with carrig (Could play centre Half) & Young Griffin is a nice player. IMO Massey would be no better than the Strickers that are already in the squad. They really need to call up natural full backs right & left Feane(NCW Rovers) Roche(Abbey) Lyons(NCW)McCarthy(Old Mill)???

if you go back to yer game againts askeaton ray massey had the better of yer defence boy blue.and for his first season as a prem player he is maken the so called big teams defences work very hard he mite not be scoren yet but most of goals for askeaton have come through him..and imo hes as good as most strikers in the league...needs time to get the hang of prem and is workn well on it
