Finn Harps 1 up McHugh
The only thing shocking about the sending off was that it didn't happen sooner. The guy was a nutcase, lunged in every time. The ref let it go but the Athlone bench tried to calm him down. Didn't work and he got the red he seemed so desperate to get.
In general though, the ref appeared to be out of it on acid throughout the game.

Nolan is a freakin physco, no wonder Nutsy sent him out on loan. He went in high on Brolly everytime, kung fu style for the majority. He went in 2 footed on McHugh, clearly catching him, how could the ref not send him off?
Shocking game of football. Harps could have had 4 by the end of it only for poor finishing. Brolly missing a one on one, McLaughlin having his attempt cleared off the line (really should have scored) and Walsh showing poor control where, had he controlled the ball he had an easy finish from 2 yards.
Would agree except about the timewasting; can honestly say I didn't notice much, and didn't hear much complaining from any Pat's fans around me (and Pat's fans are up there with Bohs fans for moaning). Unless you're talking about our injured players not running off the pitch when they were subbed?
Rovers won 4-0 against Dundalk, I'm not exaggerating when I say they could have won by seven or eight, and that's with Rovers playing at walking pace for the last 30 minutes. We missed three one-on-ones, Stewart missed two simple headers from five yards out, a goal was wrongly disallowed for offside and Gregg made some very good saves for Dundalk too. Haven't seen Rovers just completely dominate a team like that in years.

Bohs fans excel at it even on message boards, which in fairness Pat's fans don't do as much. But at games, ye're up there with the best. I've the videos of the three games this season - the ones in Richmond shot from the gantry beside the Pats fans in the terrace and the one in Belfield shot from just to the left of the away section - and the amount of excessive whining is hilarious.
There's about 20 Pats fans who moan constantly at every game home and away. Pretty annoying some of them are too. most stand under the gantry in Rochmond
We ain't near the levels of Bohs fans

Great win for us against UCD last night. Although we bossed the first half and probably could have been 3 up, I have to say fair play to UCD for coming out and giving a good footballing performance in the second half. They passed the ball well and it made for a good entertaining game overall. In the Showgrounds they played more football in the second half than the table toppers of Shams and Pats put together.
Manager: Fergal, have you your boots with ya?
Fergal: Ya, I have them here.
Manager: Ah good stuff, well give them to this man so, he forgot his!
That performance from Rovers in the first half was the best performance I've seen from any other club this season. John Russell, Eoin Doyle, Padraig Amond, Joey Ndo and John Dillon never took the foot off the gas. Russell hit the crossbar after the Amond's first goal. Richie 'Ouch' Ryan did do a job on Paul Corry, who was substituted at half-time.
There was a bit of a hole in UCD's midfield, winger Dwayne Wilson and left back Ciaran Nangle tried to fill it with some runs.
We were alot better in the second half, kept the ball a bit more and shape remained more consistent. Wardy forcing Lauchlan into putting the ball out and then Wardy jumping into the Ultras to get the ball back for a quick throw, pretty funny, better when it resulted in the goal. Every UCD player was back to defend the free kick at the end, didn't stop three Rovers players been closest to the ball when Amond scored again.
Thought Russell was MOTM at the time of his substitution, but maybe Doyle and Amond caught up with him after he went off.
Got a closer look at the cantilevered roof of the Main Stand, I'm luving it.
Thanks to everyone at Rovers for looking after us, I hope to return there in August.
