I know our season is over tomorrow night talk to whoever you want after that, doing it while the season is still on is just not good enough.
Totally agree with you,the same thing is going on in limerick at the moment, they should at least wait until the off season.
I know our season is over tomorrow night talk to whoever you want after that, doing it while the season is still on is just not good enough.
At least they are showing a bit of variety this year. Usually they settle on poaching players from Celtic but that well seems to have run dry now with some of the 'traffic' going in the opposite direction with reports of a number of Town players hoping to join Celtic next year. Makes a nice change![]()
I'm obviously showing my years, as Celtic (and St Oliver's before them) always seemed to lose their better players to Town. This trend has ceased to a large extent in recent years with players going in the opposite direction. All the players you listed have moved to Celtic within the last 2 to 3 years.
He should be concentrating more on his team for wednesday night than doing that plenty of time for that,i cant see them getting anywhere near beating michaels wednesday night this team have gone into a rapid decline for some reason, falling out with half your players doesnt help either.![]()
obviously saints are hot favourates for league, town still have mikey comerford and tony scully though 2 players who would walk into saints first 11 so there gonna be a threat going forward, just think in defence town are weak this year. anyone care to guess what towns starting 11 will be on wednesday night?
if it wasnt for birds and booze id have played for ireland juniors!!!!!
richie ryan tony davis ray condon ted o connor derek loughnane MF evan mcguire tony scully micky comeford john shanahan ian cleary and barry ryan as a lone striker
bobby i presume the player you are talking about is fizzy, well he was thrown out of the club so you could hardly still cal him one of your players!
Cant see Town getting any result tonight. Good Players have left, Adrian Cleere, Michael Quinlivan, Smurf and Barnes was all but thrown out of the club and will never play for Town. I know and like Jamie O'Flaherty but I think he has messed things up. That said the problems were also there last year and how we got as far as we did in both of the big cups is a mystery. Roberto is correct, all of Towns best young players are going to Celtic. Town is an old team and I cannot see them challenging for a good number of seasons. Raymie and Tony Davis will retire after tonight. Stephen Ryan is going back to Celtic. Richie Ryan is going to either Pike or Fariview. Evan Maguire is on his way to Celtic, along with Barnes. Barry Ryan and Derek Loughnanne will leave as well. I don’t know where Town are going to get the players. The club at junior level is in big, big trouble. Jamie or whoever is manager will have to go very far to find players and who is going to come to a club on the slide. Yes we are doing well at schoolboy level but beyond that we are a disaster. Where are all the good youth players from the last few seasons gone??
The warning signs were there a long time ago but it was never addressed. For me it started when Charlie left. Blossom got the best out of an average team. Then we had the whole fiasco with "Mr Tipp FM" Muiris Walsh leaving (to further his career in radio!!) and the fallout from that. I am sure he will be up there tonight shouting for his new friends in St Michaels. We seem to be going from one crisis to another. As I say I know Jamie and I think he did a wonderful job with the youths but I hope he is not out of his depth here. He seems to have upset a number of players, also we never had a consistent team out on the field. The system we played didn't work and was confusing. However, he is a great guy and his heart is in the right place and I really hope it works out for him. As a Town Fan and for Jamie's sake I would love to get a win tonight but I just cannot see it. Michaels to win 2-0
There is a lot in what you say and without any inside knowledge, it seems a pretty dire outlook. For once you speak a lot of sense on most issues but why you feel the need to have a go at certain individuals is puzzling. Its hard to have sympathy for Town giving the way they and Michael's poached players over the years. That said, nobody ever put a gun to the players head but it was still very annoying. I like Jamie and I think people should give him a chance. As was said at the time, Town had a poor week when they went out of both cups in the space of 7 days. They went out of the Tipperary Cup to a good Celtic side. They have only lost and drawn two games this season. If they do manage to win tonight, then that would represent a good first season. I think he should be left alone to get on with the job. However there is no doubt that the balance of power is shifting from Town to Celtic. Town have lost and will lose to many good players to Celtic. Why I don't know. All I know that out in Cahir, we made a mess of things and we are now reaping the "rewards" of that. I don't know anyone on the town committee with the exception of Muiris Walsh, but I think he was as equally as big a loss as the players you just mentioned.
Good post Town Fan- don't agree with all of it but you speak from the heart and it should open this forum up for a sensible debate
to be honest, I think dragging this up is a nonsense- the man in question is a football man and a gentleman. its nuts that people keep going on about his departure from Town. He has moved on and town have moved on and I think people are just being either vindictive or just stirring for the sake of it. Why people feel the need to keep on about it, baffles me. He left the club, get over it. Many people have left clubs and will again. He does a fine job on the radio. The dogs on the street know exactly why he left and so do you Tipp Man, stop stirring. Town Fan- leave it go and stop getting so personal
Carrick United need only a point tonight, home to Villa, to clinch their ninth Premier league title in twelve years. This is a fantastic achievement.
A club for any ambitious player!

Townfan you are talking some nonsense, Adrian Cleere is back for Town tonights game, Smurf left because he lost his place and sulked, Barnes was involved in an altercation in the Local with a committee member and the club chairman, that along with numourous things like throwing the ball at adrian cleere durin a match when he wasnt watching so he wud lose the ball, abusing players about their personal lives on the pitch, all that and he was thrown out of the club. Richie Ryan is living in Limerick so it makes sense for him to move there. Any of recent players of the years who moved to Celtic from Town left because they could not get their place with the exception of Simon Scully. Condon, Shanahan, Fraher and Power all left because they could not gain a place or were dropped. Evan McGuire is going nowhere. Michael Quinlivan left because he was also dropped and did not like it. The nonsense you are coming out about the fact of Muiris Walsh leaving the club has anything to do witht he incline is ludicrous. That sort out thing does not effect players, they dont care about it. Muiris has been at most of the Town games this season and im sure if he is not working late evenings he will be there this evening. I cant believe "the big story" is been brought up again, with the amount of strokes other clubs try to pull, any club would of done it, who end of story.
I do take your point that the junior are going through the doldrums but for a team dominated their domestic scene for years and did pretty well at munster level and ok at national level, you cannot keep doin thatain time and time again. Fact is that Town have not replaced the likes of Kevin Blanche, Robbie Boland and Paul Scully more importantly who have been the driving force behind Town for many years.
Its time to rebuild, get behind your club and support them
Have clonmel town any chance tonight, the way people are talking here it seems they have no chance,a bit strange really,
Richie Ryan is living in Cashel lads and has won a lot with Town and been well looked after so he wont be moving to Limerick thats not the kind of fella he is,and no Town would not have much of a chance tonight but they are capable of making a game out of it if he gets them fired up
Cant believe the nonsense your coming out with as a town fan aswel your comments about muiris are a disgrace he still has clonmel town at heart and for all these players leaving your talking rubbish Raymie Condon is staying for another year richie ryan, barry ryan are going no where the one or two that are goin are of no loss plus ian barnes was never thrown out of the club he left himself,il be honest ive sussed out who you are and i know why you like having a go at muirisyour backing up a few close friends...players and manager have to take blame for the season plus cleere left because of gaa committments and could be back for tonight...id wish you would stop talking nonsense about the club
