Well I wanted to use my 087 phone with a UK SIM so I called up vodafone and asked them. They posted out a code and some instructions within 5 days and it worked perfectly. I think there are some phones that can be unlocked over the phone.

Unless you have a Panasonic GD87 it's no use to you.
Even at that the code is unique to each phone and was supplied by Panasonic after I gave them the IMEI number.
There's a guy up the North that unlocks phones from networks.
    Can't remember the website.
Chipping a phone is where you give it a new IMEI number AFAIK.
All you want to do is get the phone unlocked from the vodafone network.

    .................................................. ..............

It is illegal for a phone company to with hold that info/code ..... It was that way before when no one knew any better but now even mobile companys have to have good business practice.
The SFAI are the governing body for grassroots football in Ireland, not the FAI. Its success or the lack of is all down to them.

I think there is a bloke in Dublin somewhere who does it. Golden Pages? I remember hearing about it on FM104 but as well as chipping phones, he buys phones off people who come in. So apparantly he was buying loads of stolen phones.

It's perfectly legal to unlock your phone.

    Head here: http://www.unlockme.co.uk/downloads.html

Down the Code Calculator. Worked grand for me.

If you spend over €127 on your SIM, the phone companies have to give you your PUK (Personal Unlocking Key) if you ask them for it.

If you're looking to change the IMEI, you'll need the proper software and cables to hook your phone up to your PC.
