Saints produce second half blitz
Longford Town 1-3 St Patrick’s Athletic
Three goals in the space of 11 minutes midway through the second half secured all three points for St Patrick’s Athletic against Longford Town, who were forced to play with ten men for almost an hour of the game.
Goalkeeper Stephen O’Brien was shown a red card for a challenge on Saints substitute Aidan O’Keeffe, and Town manager Alan Matthews withdrew midfielder John Martin in order to send on replacement keeper Michael Dempsey.
