Aint it weird how some of us see things differently! I too was out the Cross last night. Imo Fairview bossed the 1st half , had a few free kicks, corners and a few shots, bar the Dillions goal they had had nothing. 2nd half Dillions did rise up alright . They took control for a 15 min spell and got 2 good goals. Im not saying they didnt deserve the win just that the were not that much of a better side. Fairview had a few chances latter on and had they taken them them ??????????
Im telling ya it was a disgrace the lighting situation. it was getting dark and no sign of the lights till 9.10. I dont know was it the Mfa call or the Auls call but whoever it was not on.
Some intresting games this weekend!!!
Premier League
Park Utd v Ballyvolane, Brigowen, Park
Knockavilla Celtic v Coachford, Knockavilla, Draw
AOH Cup Semi Final Second Leg
Wilton Utd A v Killumney Utd, Farranlea Road, Wilton
Leeside A v Kinsale A, Little Island This could go to the wire but Kinsale
On a side note bit of a disaster now for us having to wait to play our last game of the season at home to Kinsale. Played Grattan on the 26th of April and as of now we wont be playing till at least the 14th May.
"Build it and they will come"
well your suspicions would be correct. I am indeed a ref. I have been for 5 years now. was going to keep that quiet but decided to be upfront about it. I assume now I am red carded?
I played all my life since 6 years old predominantly with one northside club. 10 years at senior level with 2 or 3 junior before trying the ref route. I enjoy reffing as much as j did playing but you have to be cut out for it.
Congratulations to our 3rd team today on winning the 3rd division. Well done Bluey
I heard a rumour that the reason Shandon Celtic v Springfield game was called off today was because the grass was too long. Can't understand why it wasn't played on Killowens pitch right alongside Shandons, considering Killowen are finished for the season.
To be fair to the ref who called it, the grass length was a joke as we played there last week.
Will this game be replayed now or what happens does anyone know?
i know one or two on here well but it would be 5 or 6 years since i played so most fellas wouldnt know me at all. i know i went over to the dark side and became a ref but i like to think im part of a younger (im 34)generation of better trained and better equipped refs who will be around for many years if god spares me.....its a diificult job as ye know but just as rewarding as playing when you have a good day.
AOH Cup Semi-Final 2nd Leg
Leeside 1
Kinsale 2
Aggregate score 3-2 to Kinsale
This win sets up a great battle between Kinsale and Wilton for the big honours over the next few weeks.
I would show enormous respect for players gb having been one all my life. I probably show too much tbh. it's easy in my opinion to just let fellas know very quickly and generally what a foul is for which cuts out the need for further debate which can lead to cards. This however is not encouraged which is a huge mistake imo
Well the long wait is over - Innishvilla are AUL 2 champions. a hard fought 3:2 away win against Casement Celtic secured Innishvilla's first ever junior league title. Hard to argue with 15 league wins on the trot. Credit to Hibernians they have never let up in the chase winning 8 of their last 9 games to force Innishvilla to have to keep pushing on right to the end...

Big congrats again Innish!!!
Well deserved!!!
congrats innish, and also to milstreet and leeside c team..
Yes also congrats to Leeside - impressive that their 3rd team can win a title while the seconds are in the semi-final of county cup and we all know how strong their 1st team is. A very impressive overall club display this season.
Congrats to our neighbours Ballinhassig as well on their league title.
On a seperate note - this season has seemingly gone very well for the teams outside the city. If you look at the league champions (and potential)
Prem - Kinsale or Wilton (so wilton flying the city flag)
Prem A - Killumney's to lose or Greenwood
Div 1 - Carrigtwohill or Springfield
Div 1a - Douglas Hall or Kilreen
Div 2 - Innishvilla
Div 2a - Milstreet
Div 2b - Watergrasshill
Div 3 - Leeside
Div 3a - Ballinhassig
I'd have to ask a leeside poster to confirm wether they're considered city or not? But looking at it potentially of the 9 divisions could all winners come from outside the city?

Congrats Innish, great season for ye capped off with winning the league. Well done to our neighbours Leeside C on their league title.
Little island is in a county council, part of a county parish and leeside lower division sides always play in county cup Inish
Ah yes I should have spotted the County Cup I was assuming county but didn't want to be presumptious - Looks like (based on county cup) Div 1A will be the only guranteed city winner with both Douglas Hall & Kilreen Celtic battling for the title.
I expect Killumney to take the honours in Prem A but Premier is still in the melting pot between Wilton and Kinsale, should be a cracking AOH cup final too...

I hadnt noticed that about the country sides.......the one I always notice is the Norrie dominance of the City Challenge for some reason. 8/9 years for the Norries in a row. I dont know what the breakdown of eligable teams is though.....
Welcome man in the middle....the fun will start when you and padjoe disagree. Is Alan Kelly for the big MSL game a kick for the top refs in the MSL do you think?
