holden 2 up ,played the better football i dont think so.,first goal a goal keeping ,mistake ,second goal a defo no penalty ,. yere mentors agreed with that, second half only one team in it,ref was poor for both teams, and only for yere goalkeeper it would have been a cricket score he was superb ,pfizers suits ballyvolane who played brilliant football at times.a few missing as well garry nolan ,dermot o brien ,paul okeefe and mark o mahony due to holidays,
Off to a winning start today- but we made hard work of it.
Went 2-0 up in the first but gave a sloppy goal away before half time. The cross equalized early in the second and the game was a bit disjointed after that. We were lucky to score from a corner with a couple of minutes left and managed to see it out.
Dillons are a good side and many teams will struggle to go there and get anything. They are strong in the middle and a good center back partnership.
Its going to be a good league this year and I see Knockraha had a good win against park. Important to get off to a good start before the cup games start coming in.
Forget what YOU want and think about the CLUB before there is none.
first official wkend interesting results i see.went to watch wilton today to see if the talk of their demise was true and after the first 40 minutes they looked disjointed when going 2 down. but got a penalty back on half time went 3 to 2 up and ran out 5 to 3 winners.packie o connor outstanding up front shane o neill and steve daly excellent .as was albertos replacement in goal,.wouldnt know a lot of leeds players but they were poor defenceively, they conceded 3 headed goals and keeper was found wanting on a few occasions,.a good crowd there includeing ,killumney blarney st and ballyvolane members,.wilton will surely qualify from this group if they play like this, watched glen celtic beat postal in the afternoon,.
WAS it dillions cross or springfield won .score says 3 to 2 dillions but report says spingfield.
it looks like im going to have to leave ye i have played my last first team game but im still signed with CCCCCCCCCCCCC played against the glen, or C team would beat the B team at the moment very strong. The people in charge of the B team are a joke and that is one guys fault i think he will be sacked by the morning.
So Innishvilla's new season kicked off well. First time the club has lined out 2 teams. A's won away against Dunbar (always a tough place to go) the B's traveled to greenwood and came away with a point after a hard fought 0:0 draw.

AUL 2A - Killowen 1 Macroom (B) 0.
We ground out a victory over a very fit and organised Macroom side on Saturday afternoon. We only played well in patches but failed to reproduce the form we had shown in pre-season. We only created a handful of chances over the 90 minutes but managed hit the target after 55 minutes after a good delivery into the box led to a close range finish. Minutes later we had genuine claims for a penalty rejected by the referee but it was all Macroom after that. We were pinned in our own half for the last 20-25 minutes and only for some backs to the wall defending and Macroom's inablity to finish then it could have been a different story. Still a win is a win but it was a wake up call for us and there is plenty room for improvement in all aspects of our game.

Brian Potter - Phoenix Nights
Anyone know the situation as regards promotion & relegation for the coming season? Is it the same as last season ie; one team promoted from AUL 2A. Looked at the A.U.L. site but can't see any information on this matter.

as far as i know they have not decided yet
Why does it take so long to decide this ? By the end of next week most clubs will have played 3/4 league fixtures.

Village 2-3 Bohemians .......Great come back by us after being down 2-1 at half time. The 2 goals conceded by us wer penos 1 was very harsh and the 2nd was a 50/50 but we came back strongly and in the end only for Villages keeper and some poor finishing by us we could have scored 5 or 6 but great start to the campaign for us and look forward to Greenwood on sunday afternoon
WE ARE GOING UP I SAID WE ARE GOING UP!!!!! BOHS CHAMPIONS 1A 09/10
CASTLEVIEW 2 GLENTHORN 0 . LEEDS 1 BALLYVOLANE 5.i went to the ballyvolane derby game ,and was part of a huge crowd that saw ballyvolane hammer leeds ,4 nill at half time, the football the ballyvolane lads played was superb.,with some cracking goals.second half was a bit of an anticlimax.got the last 15 minutes of village and bohs on way home, village keeper excellent.

Park United 3 v 0 Blackstone Rovers. We walked away with our heads down feeling we could have gotten something from this. First half, Park had more of the ball, but our keeper didnt have much to do. We lived on scraps really but were doing well. They scored on 40, one of those where the player coming out even though not interfering is in the eyeline of our defenders so the guy going through gets an advantage. Mr Blatter doesnt care at the moment about the crazy offside rule - he is being wined and dined around the world! I heard a quote last week - less rules, less confusion. Back to offside is offside I say!
We had a 1 on 1 to equalise before the break but somewhere between good save and a forward who will be disapointed.
Second half, game opened and we had more and more of the ball - hit the crossbar before defensive error made it 2-0. Three more Park saves before a goal where I personally thought the forward came from offside to receive it on the end of a breakaway. We kept pushing and had 2 more one on ones, one of which should have been a peno. We had our chances, only ourselves to blame. Park were good - centre forward a handful and right winger busy and effective. Lovely Set-up.
We arrived kinda late and had to start without a warm-up. Is that fair? Is that healthy? We work with UCC who dont begin until September. Can we not work to avoid trips to and from Mitchlestown in midweek and play catch-up at the end of the season or on bank Holidays or something?
Took in Kilumney and Wilton last night, Kilumney will surprise a few when all their players are back, i was told they had 2 playing senior football with Ballincollig and another with Eire og. and also 3 more on hols. Looked strong wheras Wilton though still dangerous are not as strong as previous years. Perhaps they were missing a few aswell last night. Met with Micky Hourigan today of Leeds who said they made 6 changes for game v Ballyvolane last night and a few guys out of position too but were still surprised at Ballyvolane who played very sharp football. He reckons they should hold their own in the premier. Any more news out there?
holden ,as i said earlier ist goal a mistake second one def not a penalty,at end of day better team by far won.it continued tue night with brilliant performance against leeds.6 out of 6,another win from last two games will see the group winners.
Blarney st 4-0 Knockavilla . good result to get us started, Stevie Walsh Lar Betts and new signing Shane O Sullivan all scored with the other goal coming from an OG. played some ok football 1 nil at half time , Knockavilla pushed on first 10 mins of the second half. Niall dalton put a lovely ball over the top mix up between keeper and center half 2nil. after that we turned the screw some good ball and we scored from gettin it wide and acroos twice! last 15 made some changes and the game really just died after that.
Have to say was impressed with the ref Damien o Mahony kept up to play explained decisions and good to talk to, i know thats mostly when you win but the refs do get oit off us sometimes on this so credit where its due.
Blarney St 2-1 Pearse Celtic. Missed the game due to work commitments , talked to the gaffer and he was happy enough, been a win is a win. Liam Eager scored from what i hear a good finish at the back post from a cross flicked on by Lar Betts . 1 nil at the half, Pearse equalised from 5 yards , we had a few more chances posts, cross bars till a stevie walsh peno gave us the win.
thats 2 out if 2, tough game away to Kinsale on Sat. will travel with confidence knowing a result will get us qualified. Squad gettin bigger and bigger with 2 more said to be intrested so we will see how that develops, have said to the lads all pre-season that to really challenge we need at least 16/18. we all know work weddings {funerals god for bid} all play a part in the season as do that bit of quality and luck,.
"Build it and they will come"
Thats interesting actually casilles. Do people on here think its possible for teams to keep up to 16,17 or 18 players interested?
I think its very tough for city teams that have only one team.
Its easier for teams with a B team as they can bring players up as needed and i reckon its easier for non city teams as quite often people are playing for their parish so they get more loyalty.
I reckon you cannot keep 18 players happy if those 18 players are relatively close in ability.
