On another note ye might call me biased but there could be at least 2 of our players on those trials too our right back William o Shea and our keeper Dave Cronin would be too great assets towards that team

WE ARE GOING UP I SAID WE ARE GOING UP!!!!! BOHS CHAMPIONS 1A 09/10
SCAFFA it was up to your club to nominate those players for trials, and in response to holden saying players were leaveing .thats not the point, manageing in one league and oscar trainor of another, should never have been allowed, what were management thinking.
Seems people on here are never happy! Last year as far as i know Niall was managing UCC - werent UCC senior?? - yet no one said anything then??? Also people wanted trial games - and now when there are trials people are complaining - if people arent bothered to send an email then what do they expect??
couldnt agree more...

I agree with you Ola
Only using you as an example cos you mentioned players,Scaff - did your club e-mail him?
I will be honest and said we didnt pay too much attention before we had our first involvement in the AUL panel in 2008. I know clubs should support it more, but, honestly we didnt. Might have checked the score but felt no attachment cos we didnt even come across the players during the seasons in 2B and 3B. As an example, whether the lads get on the panel or not, Im sure Corkbeg will keep more of an eye on the team. Many gems down the leagues and its only fair that anyone who deserves a shot gets one.
The only problem I would have is that the timing is a bit late - maybe should try and be a few weeks earlier.
On the management thing, I think we should be glad we have the manager. He has experience, though the league conflict issue is not ideal. Im assuming that none of us applied for the job and I bet that there wasnt many volunteers at all.
Cross of mails Scaff!
TOTALLY wrong there brendan manley was ucc manager last year, not o reagan.could au l not have made an apointment from within, who could go to matches and watch players, sending e mails is doing his job for him as he cant go to sat games when his bandon are playing,,be real lads would munster league apoint an au l teams manager, absolutely not .its a joke, going to stick my head out now and say they will win nothing with this set up.
Fair enough Bieber - i stand corrected! And tell me Bieber who do you manage o rwhat club are you involved with - easy to sit on the fence and criticise people - the AUL are always looking for volunteers
In fact if anyone has a problem with how the AUL choose their manager or anything else for that matter why dont ye write a letter to them expressing your opinion - dont forget to sign it at the bottom ;-)

i was involved with maymount but they have since gone out of football, but i still have a great affection for local au l football.no particular favorites ,go to a game or two every weekend, last week saw bohs v castleview and sunday leeds and glenthorn. might take a mossy linane game sat next and maybe leeds and yourselves sunday, forecast not great for next few days
Not ideal having AUL manager, managing a munster senior league side. what happens a few months down the line if bandon and AUL playing at same time and there will be clashes with training i would say. o regan is also manager of Cork U15 team!! but as said above aul must not be bogged down with applications.
On this matter lads,I know where a lot of ye are coming from but Niall is a very good manager prob one of best the aul have had and the aul should be lucky to have someone like him.Im sure he would listen if someone recommended a player, what we must remember is there is more than just niall involved. He prob has 3 or 4 people going to different games.
Niall O'Regan is well qualified and experienced enough to carry on doing the Cork AUL managers job.
A semi final appearance last year was a good performance considering the amount of players who had left for the MSL from the 2009 team.
Wins against Limerick and Tipperary are never easy at this level.
Also, I couldn't imagine too many good candidates making themselves available if the post became vacant.
My only reservation would be that the Cork AUL team would be seen to be a trial team for a club outside the AUL, if any players subsequently joined the manager's new club, Bandon.
If there is evidence of this happening then AUL club managers might not want their players becoming involved for fear of being poached, and the representative team would suffer as a result.
Of course this could just as easily happen with an AUL based manager, but the players would still be available to play Oscar Traynor Cup with the Cork AUL the following year.
This would not be the case if they played in the MSL.
Best wishes to Niall and his management team for the season.
Hopefully we haven't let the fox in amongst the hens![]()
