I dont know if there has a poll on this board but,
Im sure you have heard the rumours that Roy Keane has returns to Ireland because he wants to manage Ireland in the future? So what is everyones ideas about this? Do you think it would be a magnificant development ? I think so, he would be one of the best managers in the world !
Great players do not necessarily make great managers.
If Keane were to manage Ireland one day, I'd like to see him serve a long apprenticeship in club management first. We've made the error of appointing someone with limited experience in this sphere before, and whilst he was the best man for the job at the time, we all know what happened subsequently.

its a non story, as it comes from Tony Cascarino. Remember what Roy Keane said about him, Dont believe a word that comes out of that mans mouth. So Cascarino can hardly give an insight into keanes mind can he. IN addition just as i thought Mc Carthy got the Ireland job way to early and on the back of his playing career I think That Keane getting it without other managerial experience would be a joke too. Those days should be gone when we just hand it to ex players without proper managerial experience. Kerr is the manager for the forseeable future and it should be left at that.
Nothing to do with the nice eastern European cake shop two doors down.Originally Posted by davros

no I am not joking about such a serious matter!!

(BTW yes it should be LOS but i have problem registering)
And i was not joking about wining a world or european cup either !
The FAI should be disbanded if this happens.
stop the debate now its a non runner, Kerr is the manager for the next 4 years at least in my book and Keane would need some managerial experience before then. David O leary is already ahead of him in the line, along with a lot more others. So Just as Mc Carthy was not the right man when he got the job, Keane would not be the right man now either.
