That second one is an absolute classic.

Found this on the internet, which is damn impressive (match-rigging impressive maybe?)

You have to include a current LoI player's effort -

And I suppose Lee Dixon will always get a mention -

But I like that Mervue one.

The Wayne Hatswell one is simply magnificent. If you're going to do it, do it with style. Lash it in there lad!

Don't think the Harps one will ever be beaten. Might have a look for the English guy who tried to hook the ball over his head but lash it off it and in.

barry Murphy scored an OG playing for Rovers against pats in dalymount in about 1989 from near the half way line. Tried a back pass to Alan O'Neill but hut it far too hard and curled it over his head

You have to wonder about the Hungarian ones, carbon copies from execution to reaction. I'm trying to find that one in Asia where the player deliberately scored an own goal so his team would lose - I think it was in the SE Asia games.

I wonder would it be worth sending the video of the Mervue OG to MNS?

That has to be my all time classic og, for what it's worth was Jodie Byrne in goal for Rovers. Jodie also when playing for Dundalk scored a classic og in the RDS when he came off his line ran, towards the edge of his box to make what seemed like a straight forward kicked clearence but somehow managed to slice the ball and it actually spun behind him and into the goal

Ronnie Whelan scored a classic one against United in the 80s, I'm sure it's on YouTube but as I'm on my phone it's way too much hassle to get a link!

    From here.

Edit - its number one is actually this one, which got Ruch Chorzow relegated for the first time ever -

Found that while looking for the Ronnie Whelan one Longfordian mentioned.

It also mentions that in the Chris Brass one Dodge posted above, yer man broke his own nose in the process. Bonus marks for that.

One final one as well - the great Johan Cruijff, with a superb volley into the top corner (from 1:00).
