Ive put this in the Junior section and not the Limerick FC one because it is aimed at Junior soccer lads.
Is now the time for Junior soccer around Limerick to really get behind their senior team? As everyone knows a lot of people in Junior circles like to knock Limerick FC at every chance they get but from reading the below document* it is clear Limerick FC are trynig to do everything they can to build strong links between Junior and Senior Football. The club are doing well in the league at the moment and need the support of everyone in the city. I know over the years certain clubs have always helped out the club but i feel now really is the time for all the other people around the city that play Football week in week out to get out and support their senior team. Huge amounts of people play football week in week out in Limerick but it's not reflected in Jackman Park on a Friday night.
What do ye think of the work outlined that Limerick FC are putting in with the Junior Clubs?

My Goal Is To Deny Yours...
Jobspring! You mentioned on your essay junior clubs knocking limerick fc (welcome to the club) we get knocked every week and dont complain about it, in the past we looked after limerick and all we got was poor remards from members of limerick, one is still selling tickets at half time, you also said very few in limerick fc look down on junior clubs i suggest you go through the limerick forum,i think the chairman, manager and players are doing great and this is directed at them but i think you have some cheek coming on here saying that when a player makes a step up we stop supporting him, i have watched my club losing at least 11 players to limerick and i still supported them not the club but i wanted the players to do well but when all those players left limerick were not worried if we could field a team on a sunday morning or not , we didnt get a single phone call from limerick not a thank you.
If you read it again you'll see i acknowledge that teams have helped out Limerick in the past. 400 to 500 people go up to Jackman every week and because 2 maybe 3 people on an internet forum knock junior clubs it means Limerick FC are not worth supporting. Smaller clubs around Limerick regularly lose there players to top junior teams and what thanks do they get off the likes of Pike and them, none. So there is no point in saying Limerick give them **** for thanks when its happening at all levels. Its clear from whats happening now that Limerick are trying to give back to the clubs that need it the most and surely this is a way the new people running the club are trying to pay back the junior teams. I know plenty of people will always support the player when they make the step up but my remarks where aimed more towards the statement that Limerick fans look down on Junior players and when they make the step up they love them, which i thought was implying it never happens the other way around which it certainly does.
Basically if football at any level in this country is to progress both the Junior and Senior lads from all over the country need to cut the **** and just start getting on with things instead of only having self interest and dwelling on situations that may have happened in the past.
So as i said in the first post what do you think of the things Limerick have been doing (not the things Limerick or a few involved have done wrong in the past) for junior clubs at the moment?
Limerick senior soccer has not been so positive and on such a solid base in more than 20 years. Those players with Limerick, mostly local deserve better support than they receive but Limerick do need and I know they are working to get a home ground of their own.In Turners cross last week they played brilliant football on a great surface unlike Jackman park which does not suit good fast football.Lets try bridge that gap between junior and senior soccer to the betterment of football and of course the whole mid-west region. What would be better on a Friday evening than supporting your own senior soccer team against Shamrock rovers and the likes with a couple of thousand people watching?
I think those days are not too far off!!There is huge work going on behind the scenes and why shouldn't the best players in town and surrounding areas be playing for "their" club on "their" own ground "trying" their best??
I think we should give Limerick fc a chance and support them, Im not saying forget what happened in the pass, Im saying, Pat O'Sullivan and team are trying really hard and it seems to be run very professional at the moment, so lets give them the benefit of the doubt and get behind them, 99% of people that support Limerick fc are involved with junior clubs in Limerick so the argument of them and us shouldnt really matter. I say lets all row behind Limerick for 1 year and see how things turn out if they go belly up then we have reason to complain and judge
