i think is a open draw with the winners of the group getting a home draw and the runners up getting the away draw
Okay, so with groups getting to the stage where there are 3-4 games left, who looks good from each group? Stann has been doing great work in each of the 4 group threads but let's centralise this.
Group 1:
Still mathematically possible for every team to qualify but Drogheda and Dundalk are steaming ahead of the rest at the moment and both need one more win each to qualify.
Group 2:
This will probably be 2 from the 3 of Fingal, Pat's and Bohs. Athlone are currently level on points with Bohs but with 2 more games played so this probably (but not definitely) rules them out.
Group 3:
Rovers, UCD and Carlow making the running here and the likely outcome is that 2 of these 3 will qualify. Mathematically, Waterford and Wexford can still qualify though.
Group 4:
Possibly the tightest group of them all to call with 4 teams in the shake-up. Any 2 of Cork, Galway, Limerick and Mervue likely to progress here.
In terms of the Quarter-Final draw, does anybody know if this is an open draw or if the draw has already been made?
i think is a open draw with the winners of the group getting a home draw and the runners up getting the away draw
Group 1:
Qualification from this group has been decided with Drogheda and Dundalk through. With only 2 goals separating the sides, it's all to play for in terms of getting top spot and a home draw in the Quarter-Final.
Group 2:
Situation hasn't changed greatly here with four teams still mathematically capable of qualification. However, it does look like 2 from Pats, Bohs, Fingal.
Group 3:
Rovers, UCD and Carlow making the running here and the likely outcome is that 2 of these 3 will qualify. Mathematically, Waterford and Wexford can still qualify though. Rovers play UCD at Tallaght tonight so that will have a major bearing on who wins the group.
Group 4:
So 5 teams can mathematically qualify here with only Tralee ruled out. Squeaky bum time in Group 4 for definite!
There's no doubt that Drogs and Dundalk are the 2 best in this group.
Sligo Rovers lead Drog 2-0 after 40 min last sun, it was 2-1 at half time.
2nd half Drogs were well on top, scored 2 without reply, out thought and out played sligo's MF.
Credit to Drogs management and team they never gave up and deserved the 3 points. Good luck in the 1/4.
Devon and Limerick are more or less out of it now, as Cork will hardly do anything other than pummel Tralee at home in Bishopstown next Saturday, leaving them on 19 points with a better goal difference than Devon and Limerick both.
The 2 playoff spots are between Mervue, Cork and Galway now.
