On a laptop, print screen is sometimes a function key. Try Fn + PrtScr.
Another common problem occurs if there's an f-lock key on your keyboard and you've turned it on by accident. Print screen won't work while it's on.
A pain in the ass fix is to reinstall the keyboard drivers on your computer. (Google the laptop model and "keyboard drivers").
