Putting my opinion on Keane aside saw an interview with some FAI fella on Sky Sports new. When asked if Keane would play the friendlies he said he didn't know! And people say the FAI have improved!!

I think is quite normal, managers unpopular with the fans are often
booed at football matches, but its pretty much unheard of for fans
to boo one of their own players during a game.

your own team, he is part of the team and teams have to play as a unit.

I have to say that I'd be surprised if RMK is booed by any of the support. However, I'd expect the "welcome" to be less than unanimous. I for one won't be throwing the rose petals onto the field to escort him back...

I booed McCarthy after the Swiss match, and it had absolutley 0% to do with Roy Keane.

The only reason I booed after the Swiss match was because we had played shocking in the previous two matches. McCarthy had got to stage were he was afraid to make a change.

At that time Kilbane was playing terrible for us and he started him on the left leaving Duff out of position up front. When he eventually changed Duff to the left he left Kilbane playing centre forward. And needless to say he was terrible. We were 1-0 down with Kilbane playing forward and Morrison was sitting on the bench.

We had just blown our chance of qualifying after two games.

it is a so nice to find a board like this incredible one after the boards.ie have closed the discussion down (like Franco!!).

I wept and cried so much when i heard that roy is coming back to play for our country. Now we can puts that terrible little Japanese Island behind us and play some magnificant futball(on the ground).

With roy on our team, even that he is not far from being retired, he can take the place of the terrible Mr Holland who plays such negative futball that it is a discusting site to watch. (Maybe Mr Kerr was joking when he included Holland on the side, he always lauging after the game).

With such an incredible player like Roy we must have surely the chance to to go Germany. And when we are drinking and smiling there in 2006, everyone will say " oh we always have wanted Roy in the team"

But dont worry, when Mr Keane makes his first game, the people who are angry to watch him in the green gersey must bring lots of flags with this mesage of angry and maybe a pigs head to throw on the pitch so he can understand the fantastic pain the supporters have sufford with his not here.

Matty Holland's not that bad a player. His goal against Cameroon probably kept us in WC 2002, remember? He's probably not in Roy's class, but then he didn't bloody walk out on the team when we needed him most, either.

I was happy to have Roy in the team when I knew he was dedicated to the team effort and acted like a captain. Now? He can stay well away from Lansdowne for the rest of his life as far as I'm concerned.

The fantastic pain came when he deserted us in the World Cup. Now it's almost as painful watching him walk back into the squad.

Please, Brian, stick him on the bench. We've been playing well against some of the best teams in the world recently and getting good results against them as well. We don't need him.

I am absolutely thrilled Roy Keane is back..he is a fantastic player and will once again take us through to the World Cup,of course with the help of the rest of the team and our brave management team..i was not a big fan of Brian Kerr up until now but he has proved himself in my book..anyone that boo's Roy at the next International match home or away is just ignorant..Welcome back legend..you were MISSED

Like I said before, if he comes back, he'll be playing for Ireland. A role deserving of support. Keane is and always will be a ******. But he'll be wearing a green shirt. And that's a different story.

So he can understand the fantastic emotional pain I have injured from the 2002 peroid until we said 'bye bye Mick' !! ( the donkey who did not count how many player another team have on the pitch. And I must hold responsible for all this events )

It would be nice twist into his back if mr keane could sit on the bench for 2 or 3 matches in the beginning for his re educations.

but after the first match I will be shouting without a false face for roy and my country as I want to go to the world cup in 2006 and have a nice time. And so we can play some magnificant futball (on the ground) .

Without the likes Holland who managed to score a goals a the world cup, when even himself and the other 80,000 peoples around him, the newspapers,media, everyone, were in shock that such a strange events could happen (have you remembered his face with the disbeief?) we can manage a better mid field and pass the ball to a better position (on the ground) with Roy Keane and maybe not back to the goal keeper or somewhere silly every time..

There's no such thing as a 'low priority' game when it comes to playing for Ireland. Playing for your country is the greatest honour a player can have.
I'd give anything to play for Ireland, so when some ****** like Roy Keane doesn't take it seriously, he doesn't deserve a place on the team.

Your going to throw a pig's head at Roy and uses a banner to demonstrate against him but then after the first match your going to cheer for him.

That is just about the most hyprocital statement I have read today.

Also you say you don't blame Roy for the World Cup, you blame Mick. Why are you going to throw a pig's head at Roy? (very original by the way)

As for missing games.....how about the whole 2002 World Cup.....if Mc Carthy sent him home....GOOD...

Andy Reid (Forest) described the return of Roy Keane as
a "massive boost", "he is a world class player and the more of
them you get in the squad the better".

I wish more of the so called 'fans' on this site (they are not
fans in my eyes) shared his excellent attitude, he is obviously
a sensible and level headed fellow.
