Monaghan in the next round please .
Life without Rovers, it makes no sense...it's a heartache...nothing but a fools game. S.R.F.C.
Officials tonight again in the brandywell were awful, Hanney god almighty that guy wouldnt get a game referreeing and under 7 game, and his two assistants dont know why they are there, as hanney makes the decisions for them. At 1-0 we had a defo pen which he didnt give, but thats life his overall performance was shocking something must be done about, bring refs from somewere else. Well done rovers though, Derry had quite a few reserves on though and did very well
Bit strange to play reserves in a big game like that?
Shams at home please, leave Mons for the final
Great win for us tonight
Ahhh
What a performance by Ndo, Russell and Ryan in midfield yet again, ripped Pats to shreds consistantly and what beautifull football.
Pats were just awfull to watch, terrible brand of football tbh.
The only time they held any posession was a period in the second half when they wellied it up to that scumbag Williams every so often.
As for the referee, well the refereeing performance tonight was the worst ive seen in the showgies all season, he was just painfull to watch.
Consistantly giving soft free kicks to Pats and breaking up the play, some of the calls he made were comical not to mention the yellow card after the Pats goal.
But all in all things are looking up, 21 goals in the last 4 home games, I get the feeling the break is coming at the wrong time for us.
Anyone know when the draw for the semis is on?
Kenny stated that he was more concerned with Athlone next week, than either of our games this week.
Personally, I couldn't care less if we lost both games this week 10-0, as long as we win 1-0 next week. It's all about promotion this year, and I don't think Kenny really cares about anything else.
On the match though, thought Rovers were less than impressive. They played well in the first stages of the second half, and scored their two goals, but seemed to stop trying after that and let us come into the game.
Pleased with the performance of our second-string side against what was basically Rovers' full team. It certainly didn't look like there was a league between us, going from the performance. Whilst, I don't mind that much that we lost, I can't help but think that if we'd put out even a slightly stronger side last night, we may have got something from the game.
And regarding Flexy's comments, aye, the ref, Hanney, was awful. Far, far too many frees given, we probably should have had a penalty and some horrible inconsistancy regarding the taking of free kicks. One example which really stuck out, we tried to take a quick free, but it was called back because it wasn't taken from the correct place, maybe 2m off. The free was taken, and we gave away a free from that ball. Rovers then took their free a good 6m from the spot of the foul and play was let go on.
I can handle poor referreeing decisions, we all get things wrong, but it's just the inconsistency that gets to me.
Have you ever won the treble?
Rovers are starting play some of the best football I have ever seen them play.
An absolute joy. I wouldnt be too concerned about the break, its only a couple of weeks.
As for the referee last night, what a joke. He done his best to ruin the game.
The amount of free kicks and leniency towards pats was astonishing at times
The ref is always a disgrace in the Brandywell when Derry don't get the result they want.
It's DISGRACEFUL.
