By this purchase, the Cork City Football Club name is returned to its rightful owners, the fans of Cork City FC. The club will continue to play under the name of Cork City FORAS Co-op, as the name of the club cannot be changed mid-season, nor will the news today affect our crest for the foreseeable future.

The SFAI are the governing body for grassroots football in Ireland, not the FAI. Its success or the lack of is all down to them.
