i possibly mis quoted the article but it was about films with a lot of music in them.why did you not watch the end of it??Originally Posted by Peadar

Spinal tap is one of the funniest movies ever, never mind just the 10th best musical or whatever
Whatever it was I am sure it was better than my plan to get out of this by pretending to be mad. I mean, who would have noticed another madman around here?
'A Mighty Wind' is pretty good too, from the same stable as Tap. If they count, 'Shine' should be up there.
As for real musicals, I always thought 'My Fair Lady' was good, but then I had a thing for Audrey Hepburn but my fav would be 'Little Shop of Horrors', brilliant turn by Steve Martin as a Sadistic dentist.

Hate musicals with a passion meself. Maybe I was traumatised from an early age being brought up on a diet of The Sound of Music and Grease....
BTW, 12th man, for God's sake add a 'u' to 'Favorite'.
do you know i used to spell it with a u ,but ive seen it written and printed in newspapers so many times without it that i dropped itOriginally Posted by brendy_éire

The Commitments anyone?
Rude Boy with The Clash while being possibly one of the worst films in the sense of acting, storyline and all that carry on has probably the best live footage of any band ever.
i suppose age groups comes into it.
like moulin rouge or wizard of oz compared to 24 hr party people or the clash film would imo appeal to completely different generations.
The rolling stones made a feature film. All the live footage was taken from their tour of ireland in 1965 when they plaed Dublin, Cork and Belfast. In Dublin the crowd invaded the stage and somebody grabbed the mic off Mick Jagger.
You dont get bands like that coming to cork now...... pity.
yentl-with barbara streisand-great voice
