He gave his best . Maybe not the most talented footballer but he always gave his best . What more can we ask ?
He was our Gattuso.
SSN were speculating the Green's season may be over after being stretchered off against Carlisle last night - https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/45230416

It was 2010 by the time Green got the call-up from Giovanni Trapattoni, but there was one further complication. As he was preparing to fly to Dublin for a training camp, the airborne ash from the eruption of an Icelandic volcano grounded all flights.
“Oh my God. I was supposed to fly out to Dublin and meet up [with the squad] at Portmarnock, but all the flights were cancelled. That was a nightmare.
“I had to get a taxi to Dover, and then get the ferry over to Dublin. I’d have tried to swim across if I had to. It was major for me to be called up.”
The famous Dover to Dublin ferry. Does he possibly mean Liverpool or Holyhead? Believe it or not my father told me he travelled on a ferry from Dublin to Liverpool with several Ireland players on their way back from an international in the early 70’s. Seems incredible that the FAI was not willing to play for flights.
That article insinuates he never got a look-in under O’Neill but he did play a few early games.
He was man of the match in a friendly against Poland if I recall correctly
