    Pitch at new Lansdowne Road

In light of the problems that they are having with the pitch at the new Wembley, and the fact the problems that they are having are being put down to the amount of non-sporting events being held at the stadium, is there a danger that the new LR could suffer the same fate? The reason Wembley has to host concerts, NFL, motocross etc is because a huge chunk of the money used to build the stadium came from the taxpayer, leading to the FA not having much of a say.

The same situation exists with LR. There are already concerts booked in, this was part of the deal. Are we going to have a similar problem?

the problems are more to do with the design of the stadium not letting enough wind, sunlight and water onto the pitch. That was a big concern with the new pitch at Lansdowne Road, and was part of the design of the stadium.
We'll just have to wait and see, I guess.

We shouldn't have any problems with the elements getting into the stadium as they only built 3 stands.

On the tour I had they made a big thing about the Wembley pitch saying they have got it right re air circulation and water. They were adamant that the Aviva
    won't have the same problems.

Furthermore there is a 3 concert per year limit. Wembley is being over-used to pay back a massive debt.

In reality it is a case of "wait and See" I'm sure if you trook the Wembley tour in 2007 they'd have said they have the pitch issue sorted too.

Im sure I read somewhere that the new LR was designed with this issue in mind. Havent been to the stadium yet but the panels on the exterior in the stadium are designed such a way that allows air to move freely in the stadium, enabling the grass growth. The issue with Wembley has not being sunlight but the natural airflow around the ground. That shouldnt be an issue in LR

I'm not sure it is bing overused. Certainly its being used a lot less than most English football grounds. Problems are all in the desgn

As I understand, part of Wembley's problem is that they didn't leave enough time to bed in the ideal pitch before it was put into use, so went for a standard one. And now they'll never have a chance to redo it, because of all the non football events.

All very enclosed stadiums have problems with the pitch. Millenium Stadium and Amsterdam ArenA have to relay the pitch quite often. Lansdowne is much more open than those so I wouldn't expect the pitch to be as much of an issue.
