Some good info from a Cork guy living in Malmo

    citynet

. Try and travel to Copenhagen its easier - their is a train which runs 24 hours from Malmö to Copenhagen Airport which takes about 20 minutes and costs 85SEK (approx €9) one way. You cannot buy a return ticket unless you are using the return leg within 24 hours. There is a bus service from Malmö to Malmö Airport (Sturup) - takes 45 minutes and costs around €12 one way.

    2. Their is a small but decent Irish pub in Malmö - Fagans. Apart from this there are not many decent pubs here. There is a place for outdoor eating and drinking which is really good if the weather is nice called Lillatorg (Small Square)you may prefer however to go out drinking in Copenhagen, especially the Globe (Irish pub), it will be cheaper to stay in Malmö, there are IBIS hotels in both Copenhagen and Malmö.

    3. Its a big stadium with 27000 capacity, Malmo regularily get 20000 specatators but expect no more than 10000 for this one. Tickets for the game will probably cost 80 - 180 SEK - there is a very lonely spot for away fans.

    4. Swedish police accept no crap.

    5. A pint will cost anywhere between 45SEK to 55SEK - many places have happy hour between 1500 - 2000 where it costs considerably less. If you are drinking in Malmö I really do recommend fagans (www.fagans.se).
I will be glad to meet up with anyone for a beer before or after the game.

Whatever it was I am sure it was better than my plan to get out of this by pretending to be mad. I mean, who would have noticed another madman around here?

The SFAI are the governing body for grassroots football in Ireland, not the FAI. Its success or the lack of is all down to them.

I like the sound of the the Slaghuset! 4000 people, open until 5am and plenty of Swedish women who I'm sure won't be able to resist all the Irish fellas. It does say that the Swedish people are "friendly" and "very helpful with tourists"!

It also says Malmo is cheaper than Copenhagen, I was under the impression that it was the other way around. Both are quite expensive anyway by the sounds of it though.

There isn't much differances in prices but there is a differance in exchnage rates - you get just over 9 swedish for 1 euro whereas you only get 7 Danish. My experiance is that Copenhagen like many capital cities is more expensive - many Danes do their come over to Sweden for shopping etc because of the prices.

Don't know of any festival in Malmo the weekend of the the match here in Malmo. It is a bank holiday weekend here though for midsummers - all the Swedes eating raw fish, drinking lots of shots , getting plastered , dancing around a giant pole thingy - Last year a crown I knew went skinny dipping in lake, seemingly not all that uncommon. That takes place on Friday evening, expect Malmo to be quiet enough in the pubs. Myself and a few friends will go to Copenhagen for a bit of a sesion, anyone here is welcome to come along.

He is but he isn't exactly prolific at the momet ; i think has has only scored twice this season. I'd be more worried about Tobias grahn or Afonso Alves right now.
