as a neutral the truth is bitter.pike should be in final and thats that.pike were not ilegal againts the saints and that was proved already.they beat yee 4 2 fair and square and thats it.dosnt bother me who wins it this year because it has been a shambles.hopefuly the pike lads stay together and rattle it again next year.they are the loosers and no one else.
totaly disagree if thats the case kilmallock could go away and play illegal players to get them to a semi final of a fai then not play them in the semi. just because pike had no illegal players on the day against st micks what about all the other rounds he played in.
rules were broken lads lets move on.
If clubs want a trophy that badly and will go to any lengths to get it, we need to have stronger legislation to curtail such conduct.
Maybe it is time for the FAI to look more closely at the AMOUNT of ex-professionals a club is allowed to use in the Junior game. Otherwise there is a mockery being made of one of Europe's finest Cup competitions.

lads with all due respect pike did not know he was ilegal for those games as im presuming they wouldnt have played him in so many games.all im saying is they were not ilegal for match against st micks and st micks have no right whatsoever to be still in it.maybe the previous teams would have a right to be in it but whats done is done and as you said lets move on.
your missing the point an illegal player was played through out pikes run to the last 8.
so we should all over look that fact and advise other teams that its ok to play illegal players because you wont get puinshed come on now.
what about park they were thrown out for playing an illegal play against regional.
carew park is another team about 4 or 5yr back forced to replay and lost and they were actually in a FAI final.
pike are not the first team for this to happen to and believe me they wont be the last. but what we can all agree on is the cowboys thats running FAI there is some my loop holes in the rules that teams dont know what going on junior council needs to revise these rules in the summer its a joke it has ruined this seasons fai comp
What I am saying is that we have a very well structured Junior league set up in this country which needs to be protected.
If we allow clubs to have significant numbers of ex-pros play at this level the chances of smaller clubs making a name for themselves against the more established outfits will be lessened.
All those in football have a duty to safeguard what is after all an amateur game. People give of their time and effort to promote the game in their clubs and parishes and the hopes and dreams of those who participate at this level must be seen to be defended.
The onus therefore falls on our governing body to adhere to the laws of the game. If those laws are not adhered to then, in accordance with those rules, punishment will be meted out. Now, like it or not, those who play OUR GAME subject ourselves to those rules when we take the field of play. Sometimes we may not like or agree with those decisions. But those rules are there to protect ALL CLUBS as they have done for many years.
Sometimes we win and sometimes we lose.

you give it them andrew, you know about clonmel in mj because you reffed it.youre dead right michaels were beaten fair and square just ask 1 of their players ray mc hes walking around limerick with his head in the ground hes so embarressed.justice will be done the view will give it to them and chalky can go back crying to gerry smyth.
Its how we react to the decisions that do not suit us which shows our real character. This will manifest itself in different ways, which the discerning readers can work out for themselves!

Are we going round and round in circles here?? its either a) Pike were right to play the illegal player coz they didnt know he was illegal b) St Michaels should never objected to the fact they were beaten by Pike c) whats done is done
How many teams in this years competition have got screwed over by a dodgy refs decision?? Its a split second decision, you moan and n=bitch about it but you lick your wounds coz its part of the game. the Pike/St Micks thing has been looked at three times it the cold light of day with all the facts layed out, a considered decision was made. Get over it already.
Willl this topic still be running on and on in next years thread??
