    Dundalk v Sligo

Lads Iv just seen over on our forum that Paul Cook is suspended for this one as per this weeks suspensions. What did he do? Hatswell and Miller out for us due to suspensions.

Got sent off after a game for telling Alan Kelly what he really thought of him.
Life without Rovers, it makes no sense...it's a heartache...nothing but a fools game. S.R.F.C.

I'm glad to hear that Sligoman. It was surely worth a one match ban. Kelly did cost us a FAI cup.

That was part of the reason he told kelly what he thought of him.

Sloppy defending cost us the cup lads. Nothing to do with the Ref. Go back and look at what led up to their penalty and Boco not closing down the winger.

Dong, you cannot be going around making statements like that. While they are quite true, they have a detrimental effect on the nurturing of our persecution complex which is part of our DNA. I have been sent to the stands for criticising Cook as he cost us the cup final with his mad substitutions.

If it wasn't for Peter Cherrie, man of the match, we definitely would have got something from that game. Proud to be a Rovers fan after that performance.

Self destruct in Dundalk again but a great performance from the lads, I have no doubt we would have got a result last night with 11 players, work rate in the second half was brilliant. I cannot see Dundalk staying on top, they had one clear chance and scored from it, Sligo could have had 3 goals in the second half only for their keeper. Fair play to the Sligo support for staying behind the team till the end. We now need a few good wins on the trot to move up the table.

Despite their numerical disadvantage, Sligo looked comfortable, but in the 56th minute -- out of nowhere -- Dundalk took the lead. Sligo captain Danny Ventre was slow to deal with a Gaynor cross, allowing former team-mate Faz Kuduzovic to seize possession and drill home.

Don't worry, Danny, you'll still be the first name on the team sheet next week. Hope you didn't forget to go over to applaud the Forza lads afterwards.

Certainly those that played, particularly in the 2nd half, were excellent and could well have got a brilliant result with 10 men. Gary McCabe badly let down his team mates, his manager and the Sligo fans last night.

Very few people (myself included) ever saw us as being real title challengers, but we are on top on merit at the moment. Most Dundalk fans hope and dream, rather then expect, that we remain in contention. Ultimately the high budget squads at Bohs, Shamrocks are more likely to have the strength in depth.

Similarly few expected Sligo to be 12 points off the pace after 14/15 games!
