Great to bring it back to Limerick. Fair play to all involved.
A good game played in a very sporting manner with just one yellow card shown. The Cork officials had an easy afternoon, no bad tackles, no dissent - a very clean game of football. St.Michaels were the better team but really it was a case of two excellent defences. Chalky Walsh won 'Man of the Match' award but must have been run close by Paul Breen, Davy Ryan and Brian Buckley. St.Michaels had huge support which added to the atmosphere of the occasion. At the end of the penalty shoot-out, instead of relishing their joy at winning, several of the Fairview players, led by their captain Brian Buckley, immediately went to the St.Michaels players to comisserate with them - most sporting of them. Congratulations to Fairview Rangers on their win and excellent achievement of junior and youths F.A.I. double.
What an achievement by Fairview, 8-time FAI Junior Cup winners, FAI Junior and Youths Cup winners in the same season. Congratulations, a great club. First club to do that unique double. Listening on the radio it sounded like a good atmosphere at Turner's Cross. Thought it was a disgrace the way Live95FM covered the game - why they covered the 2nd half of the Munster Football Semi and wouldn't switch to the soccer from the very start was a joke, the FAI Junior Cup Final is 20 times a bigger game than the Munster GAA Football Semi-final between two sh1te counties that are mediocre at best, why they didn't cover the soccer from the start beats me - Fairview going for an unprecidented 8th FAI...
Was listening myself and to be honest it sounded like a very even game, like the good old days with the penalties commentary, its actually way more exciting listening than watchin a shoot out, thought it was great to hear soccer on the wireless again, hard lines on Cosgrave the ex Fairview man on missing such an important penalty, well done to Fairview on the double and i'm sure St Michael's will be back, but overall great for Limerick junior soccer
