    UCD 6 Bray Wanderers 0

May as well start a thread on this one, it being our record league victory and all. We started the game slow enough and didn't carve out many opportunities. Bray probably started the better and but for some woeful execution of chances they may well have taken the lead. However, we perservered and crucially took the lead before half time. The second half was very much different. We were rampant going forward and played expansive football which opened Bray up time and time again. I suppose it was typical of Bray's season that a couple of our goals were the result of total calamity in the box, one being a deflection off our player from an attempted clearance. Bolger underlined his ever growing importance to the team with a sublime lob as part of his brace. Russell took the sting out of the game with substitions around the three quarter game mark. Only for that we may well have added to our six. We need to keep our heads now and get ready to put in a very hard shift like the Pat's game on last Monday to grind a result against Rovers on Friday. Well done to the lads.

I was reminded after of Owen Heary's league debut - a 7-1 defeat for Kilkenny in Belfield.

Amazing game; Bray arguably on top for the first 35, and then 35 minutes later, they're 6-0 down.

Worth noting that for all our good form - seven clean sheets in a row, as many points as 2008, two points off top if we win our game in hand - we've only got 7 points and 2 goals from eight games against sides other than Drogheda and Bray. So I wouldn't be getting too carried away about Friday yet.

Truly remarkable considering the better players we had at our disposal in 2008.

I said before and will say it again- Martin Russell: Simply a God.
