Pathe Newsreel clips of the Irish team in Action

I posted a couple of these in the Lansdowne Road thread last night but they do deserve their own thread so I gathered together a collection of clips. A lot of the footage was used in the Dalymount Days documentary a couple of years ago but well worth a second look....

I've added a few League of Ireland clips as well

I've only seen the two Ireland videos you put up in the Lansdowne Road thread as of yet, but the commentary is absolutely hilarious. I get the impression it isn't the original commentary but might have been added by the producers in recent years and scripted to sound authentic.

The crowds also seemed to be much more courteous in those days. The England crowd even appeared to clap and cheer the Irish goals during the 2-0 win in Goodison Park in 1949.

Thanks. History section though? Nice to see Milltown packed to the gills.
Forget about the performance or entertainment. It's only the result that matters.

I didn't even know there was a history section so apologies if I mis-posted this. Mods, feel free to move to the history section as you see fit.
