You think the withdrawals from this match were bad, wait until you see the drop outs in the squad for the Nigeria/Jamaica games.
According to BBC TV text just now, ourselves, Jamaica and Nigeria will be involved in a triangular tournament to be played at The Valley, home of Charlton Athletic, from Saturday 29 May to Wednesday 2 June.Originally Posted by Declan_Michael

i wouldnt guess there would be too many withdrawals, the club managers have no reason to get pee'd off because there will be no club games to play.Originally Posted by ger121
Plus with us not being in euro 2004 how else will players who are looking for transfers like andy reid get the chance to show what he can do away from forrest.
Plus, good choice on the venue, the valley is a great ground![]()
Why? Most countries will either be in the European Champs or a small tournament. I'm sure we'll have most of the players available.Originally Posted by ger121
The date is a bit weird, only 2 days after the romainia game. I know that its a bank holiday during that weekend.

This is probably the best chance we're going to have of winning something at senior level for the foreseeable future.
Considering how far away Nigeria and Jamaica are, it will be like a home tournament for us (even if there are a lot of Nigerian/Jamaican ex-pats in London, we should still easily outnumber them).
I don't think we've won anything since like 1986 or something so we should really give this thing a good go.
It's also on Charlton's official website as confirmed, strange how the FAI are always the last to announce things

It is the Unity cup-a cup for the three biggest ethnic minoritys in England-i.e Ireland, Nigera and Jamiaca and aims to unite them through football-fair play to them![]()
should be a good tournie as club season has finished and no Euro 2004 so should get the good players out, I'm certainly going for it as my first ever Ireland match. Tickets available from ticket master 9.00 tuesday morning, (have a look in 'Tickets' in the 'For Fans' forum).

I don't see the tickets on Ticketmaster, any ideas? I'm back in Ireland for my sister's 21st on the Saturday so I'll have to miss the Nigeria game. I'll still catch the Jamaica game and the Valley is only down the road from where I live.Originally Posted by liam88
