Great interview. You just knew something like that was going to be good.

I thought Kilbane sounded like a teenage girl at a Justin Bieber comment at times. Cringeworthy moment when he asked Mick if he remembered him coming into his first Ireland squad in a suit and Mick said no.

Has anybody got footage of that McCarthy tackle on Gascoigne they're talking about? I can kind of picture it but hazy enough.

    I would if I could!

How is there no footage of this? I can't even find the full game anywhere.

(Anywhere being a quick search on YouTube).

You still haven't got those betamax converted to digital?

Up in the attic. A lot of old games on them but I suspect the quality would be poor at this stage as the tapes degrade.

Mick's time to come to an end at Ipswich. https://www.itfc.co.uk/news/2018/mar...-his-contract/ At least Ipswich are allowing him the dignity of seeing out the end of the season, which is no more than he deserves. So hopefully he'll take a couple of years off, do some media work and we'll see where we stand come the next cycle of qualifiers. Actually, come to think of it, the 2020/21 Nations League might be an ideal opportunity to bed in a new manager, hopefully along with some of the young strikers we've been talking about. Wow, Mick is really starting to look like my dad... I must be related to him somehow.

    I love Mick.

I can't help but feel that he will manage us again. We have potentially a great batch coming through and i think he would be the type that would be ideal for them. He's great with young players but teaches them the old school values.

To your point, he has been giving game time to a few young players, including 18 year old Tristan Nydam. And he speaks here about Nydam getting jeered as being "appalling": https://www.twtd.co.uk/ipswich-town-...-was-appalling

Always had a huge soft spot for Mick. I'd love to see him back as Irish manager, but I hope he gets a crack at a decent club in the meantime - either a genuine Championship contender or mid-table Premiership type, anything but another Ipswich treading water.
Hello, hello? What's going on? What's all this shouting, we'll have no trouble here!

For future reference, this is a great resource (especially since Tets tided it up!) - https://foot.ie/threads/107348-Links...layers-Threads
