The Model Club
Tell all the Bohs you know
that we've gone and won two-in-a-row
and it's not gonna be three
and it's not gonna be four
it's more likely to be 5-1.
ez
mcallister was free and left to do his own thing all off the 1st half. kelly laid off far too much.
i couldnt believe the room he gave him???
he copped on 2nd half and screwed him.
im with the mons march, gortakeegan seems like yonks ago.gwan
Reasonable summary of the game, two chances for each side, Dundalk took one of theirs theirs. Oriel Park ground developments looking a lot better but the pitch gives an unpredictable bounce of every ball .
At the moment there`s little enough difference in standard between the top eight teams, though if Bohs are this far behind after two series of games, the title wont be going to Dalymount.......( not that I believe that for a second!)
I still think everyone around the league believes the same. Mahon and Cook were both asked about their "revised" goals for the season and both said that Bohs, Rovers and Fingal are still the sides to beat (and in fairness both, particularly Cook, praised Dundalk too)

And Socrates played for UCD......
Another myth from ill-informed people. It bounces the exact same every time! There has been FIFA tests done to confirm this or we wouldn't have gotten a licence for it. Would the pitches in Galway, Bray or Sligo pass the same tests in recent weeks??
Lads, why so defensive about your ptich? Its fine (and better than some grass pitches as you indicate) but the naked eye can tell you the bounce isn't the same all the time. Even Alan Cawley said as much on the LOI radio show and he plays and trains on it

Every time RTE cover a game or a journalist writes a piece about Dundalk, what do they talk about. The "plastic pitch". Every misplaced pass is due to the surface, apparently. It has got very tiring to us.
Dundalk supporters aren't syntethic grass fanatics. I just wish we had the sprinkler system to water it to help the ball run better.
The pitch is a practical piece of business. We have to pay our way, we've no sugar daddy here.
Listen mate, I'm on your side. Makes total sense to me. But as you say, if they watered it more, it'd be better.

Have to laugh at some of the crap thats written and commentated about Dundalks pitch ,there is not one pitch in the league where the ball bounces or runs the same every time ,the fact is, it is the most consistant surface in the league.
Not as unpredictable was where a Jason Byrne dead ball kick will land. His free kick that went about 20 yards over the bar would be funny in an under 10's game.
Maybe something got to do with all the nonsense and ill-informed criticism.
Its a pitch that suits football players. Poor players and losing teams tend to moan.
Alex Williams now with St Patrick's Athletic in interview with BBC Scotland recently-
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/foot...em/8607191.stm
"It's probably the best artificial surface I have ever played on," said the 27-year-old.
"You can pass the ball about well and, although some players do moan about it, I have no problem with it.
"If you can play football then this surface is ideal."
Not an issue for Pats as they haven't lost (or conced a goal) on it yet.
Williams likes it. Cawley doesn't. Your own fans above think it shoujld be watered more. And its better than most of the quagmires about
Still don't get why you're so defensive about criticism though

Dissappointing result for us last night. We probably deserved the draw but played very poorly.
We were shocking in the first half and if philly hughes wasn't such a fat waste of talent Mons could have had a couple. We were far better in the second half and Davin missed a sitter.
The goal was a free out for a push on Nults but we brought it on ourselves conceeding 3/4 corners in a row that late in a game.
Mons are strong, well organised and have a very good midfield. Will cause most teams a lot of trouble this year. We'll need to up it a fair bit against Harps.
Over simplistic about what Cawley has said. He described the pitch as being different to what he expected, not that he disliked it.
After a poor performance in the first home game of the season against Drogheda, some Dundalk players expressed the wish for more water on the pitch. Wiser observations wanted a change in formation. Both have since happened
Dodge - you are not normally so slow. Unreasonable criticism, ill-informed comments (and excuse making) will normally not go unchallenged here. If that is being "defensive" to you - so be it.
my mistake there paulie, too many post match pints in kennedys!!!!
Exactly, always thought a lot of people made too much of this pitch, both positive and negatives, besides is it really that much of an advantage to us ? last night was only our 3rd league win at home since Sept !!
