Sad to see him die yesterday. Read a great line from him. During the war, he told an officers selection board that he had a preference for tanks "because you can go into battle sitting down". The board issued a warning "On no account must this man be put in charge of others".
Not many like him around anymore.
remember him more for his many appearances on talk shows (esp. the late late show with Gaybo) than for his acting. always entertaining though, a great storyteller. he was a touch of class.
