I never mentioned Net2's show. I said EL weekly will get a better Irish audience share than ITV's Monday night show in the same timeslot. Without question.

You say EL weekly couldn't hold down a 10.30 slot, rubbish! Your viewing figures argument is daft, because there's no way that TV3's re-runs of 'Cracker' on mondays at 9.00pm would get a better audience than a well produced EL weekly show.

Tv3 WEAKly was fairly poor once more.

They couldn't even get someone to proof read the league tables Think i noticed Drogs had played 3 won 0 drawn 0 lost 1 0pts, also mistakes in the middle of the 1st division table.

Its like good quality community tv.

They had the wrong crests on two or three of the 1st division teams in the table too.

I got a reply from TG4 today after I asked were they planning on showing any league games this season. This is what it said:

    Adam a chara,

Gurbh maith agat as ucht an ríomhphost.
Thank you very much for your e-mail.

TG4 won't be showing any live matches from this season's Eircom League.
The reason for this is that TV3 and RTE have the rights to this league and TG4
don't have any rights to show Eircom League.

    regards

They do? I thought that they weren't exclusive rights.

One of the live matchs actually did, believe it or not.

Of course they are not going to get the same figures but they would be way ahead of other sports programmes they show!

    Tg4

I wrote to TG4 about showing the eL. I got a fairly long and informative reply as gaeilge from the Head of Sport.

I dont want to post it up here, but the jyst of what he said was that TG4 want to show as much Irish sport as they can. They entered talks with the FAI about it, but then again we all know the FAI.

He wasnt ruling it out but for now TG4 dont have the resources.
    Oh no not them again

To be fair resources was just one of the reasons they give.

TG4 themselves dont have OBU, they use a company in Ring call Nimeton. AFAIK (a friend used to work with Nimeton) RTÉ, during the GAA championships and elections, also use Nimeton to suppliment their own services. That would leave no/v.few OBU for TG4 to use for soccer.
    Oh no not them again

The Rugby season is over soon. Why cant they use the equipment for football when the Rugby season has finished?

Although im sure its not all TG4 fault. The FAI arent the easiest to deal with and TG4 do seem to be quite an innovative broadcaster.
