    LTFC beat DCFC 1-0

This was an absolutly a horrible game to watch. The shels pitch was a disgrace-bit like ours vs bohs last season. We did not create as many chances as in the Bohs game. Our first shot was MR Bakers goal and WHAT A GOAL THIS WAS! A backheel from baker to keego and baker lets the ball bounce once and hits a fantastic volley to the net! An early contender of goal of the season imo!

The defence played fierce well and pruntinho gets better in every game he plays. Dillo and Paiso had a cracker of a game. But the players who were **** poor were kirbs who seems to have a confidence crisis and could not cross a ball to save his life! Keogh had a poor game and Keego was hardly in the game at all! Barrett played well. And as for Digger words cant descirbe my gra for this much loved character. I think for the Cork City game put Brian Byrne in for Kirbs and Garto for Keogh as Keogh is a bit slight of build.

We were blessed when a DC player attempted an unusual sortt of lob and it missed the town goal by inches!

Not the greatest of town performances but if we play that vs cork and win that I would be happy. Somehow that wont happen!
Gary Cronin is he the right man to manage Longford Town?

what was the story with diggers shorts, they were almost around his neck??? where did the squad numbers from the bohs game go ????

much imporved performance compared to bohs, but shels have a lot to answer for with the state of that pitch, poor, pee wee almost got distracted making sand castles.......

I hope this helps you Pineapple Stu.The crowd was made up of mostly men & women with some boys & girls making up the rest.
The crowd was very small maybe 6 or 700 tops and most seemed to be from Longford. The pitch was also a shambles and a poor reflection on Shels or whever is responsible for it.As for the match, well the less said about the match the better.I thought LTFC were crap.A very poor showing indeed but it's done and dusted so roll on Cork next week.

were you at the game ?? and the bohs game ?? alan is not having a good start to the season and what was said above is not far from the truth, alan needs to spend a bit of time with yur man from the lucozade ad !!

on a seperate point, dessie baker did an interview on newstalk 106 after the game in which he said that Alan tried to sign him last season but it didn't go through and that at the end of the season we were the only club interested in him.....well i think we've signed a good one here and pauro i'll be hoping to hear the new chant in the coming weeks !!!

600 or 700 is very generous. We were in the New stand and you could not appreciate how small the crowd was if you didn't see it from there. wasn't even 100 in our section... 500, would be more like it...

don't know. seamed to be more like relatives and club members rather than support... 50/50 really.

BTW noticed some Arnotts gear in the crowd... Target audience?

BTW2: I feal it was an absolute disgrace that DC players were drinking pints in the lounge in Shelbourne at half time and didn't make it out in time to see the second half kick off... hardly a sign of an enduring interest in their club.

No DCFC palyers were in the lounge as far as i could see. Some of the supporters wear the same track suits, maybe those were the people you saw. John Gill wouldn't stand for that. Pitch was more like Dollymount strand. We had to move from whitehall, because of the UEFA licence, the pitch there is 100 times better.

I lost count because people kept waving their arms about and confused me.

As regards Alan Kirby, i've said it already but i'll say it again, i think he is way off his best and other than a few of the remaining games of last season he has had a seroius and alarming dip in form.I hope it won't come to this but a spell on the bench might help him.

i heard from a relaible source today that digger was not wearing the right number on the jersey due to a mix up with the suppliers-it is also the reason why keegan was wearing a 28 -apparently the fai will not accept a squad system on the shirts without a name at the back. That would be the way I understand it.

The problem with Alan Kirby is that it's not just one off day he's had it been quite a few..We all know that Kirby can turn on the style but of late he has had a serious dip in form..If he continues playing the way he has been I wouldn't be surprised if he was warming the bench..

Xlex harsh to say that about Dublin City players drinking at half-time, who were they?? The only time I saw Dublin City players at half-time was when they walked past me on their way into the dressing room and then just before the second half started a few went I saw a few going over to the main stand..

You can't judge him on that pitch - Marty compares it to ours early last season, but ours was at least flat! It's going to cost Shels points no doubt.

Terrible game - I'd put the attendance at 300 max. I counted 75 in the new stand, and the main stand was very sparce (much worse than I thought when I was in there). CHF must be favourites to go down - they look like a first division team, all strength and physical presence....
If you attack me with stupidity, I'll be forced to defend myself with sarcasm.

well the few guys in the lounge at half time looked as if they were the players who didn't make the match day 16... If they weren't players then fine.... I apologise.
