Thumbs down Poor Start to season 2004

Cobh Ramblers 1 Bray Wanderers 4
    James Cummins Graham O'Hanlon
    Kieran O'Brien
    Kevin Grogan
    Colm James

With Dave Hill beginning a three match ban from the dug-out and Darren Murphy serving a one match suspension, Cobh were played off the park tonight. In fact, the new goal keeper Peter Cuthbert (ex UCC) pulled off a few great saves and the upright/cross bar saved us on other occasions.

Those of you who were contemplating the Cobh lineup during the week will be disapointed to hear that Jonh Meade didn't even make the squad tonight.

Also rumour has it that Alex Nesovic has not signed as yet for the club.

With no-one shouting the odds from the dug-out Cobh were leader-less and its supprising that we didn't concede more.

Presently, the club seems to be in turmoil. The secretary and the goalkeeper saga is set to run and run -- just who was responsible for Dave Hennessys departure? Appartently, he didnt even sign a contract for LAST SEASON.

I seems like its going to be another long season ahead for the Rams and judging on tonights performance, E150 is way too much for a season ticket.

Another thing to note is that we picked up at least 4 yellow cards tonight. Disipline as bad as ever.

He was one of our better players tonight. As always a rock in midfield. He was substituted near the end when James Cummins (goal scorer) replaced him. Also another city boy, John Andrews had a good game.

Its another one of these Ramblers/ paper work / f**k ups. He played for St. Marys in a friendly against COBH and that makes him ineligable until June. I know, it dosnt bear thinking about. The secretary would want to get his act together. Even Monaghan have strenthened their team and they will not be a push over this season.

    Thumbs down Poor Display

It was a very poor display last night and changes will have to be made.

As a unit our back four was poor with only John Andrews worthy of mention. Darram Murphy and John Meade must be brought into the team for the next game. Young Cuthburt in goals was given no protection last night and could not be faulted for any of the goals. For him it was a tough debut.

The midfield did ok, David Warren was very good and when Tynan took people on he looked the part.

I cannot understand why young Chris O'Shea did not start last night. How is this guy suppose to get experience when he is brought on when we are 3-0 down for a player who struggled from the start.

The manager has got to sort the bench situation out fast. Even Junior clubs have an assistant manager. It was a farce last night to see Dave Hill shouting form the Press area. We had no leadership on the bench, whereas Bray had plenty of voices there.

Eddie, couldn't agree with you more on all your points. I think the biggest dissapointment last night was the lack of leadership on the bench. I think I saw him in phone contact with one of the lads on the bench. Why wasn't John meade even in the squad.

Another problem last night was Robert Brosnan. I'm one of his biggest fans but he wasn't performing last night - even from four yards in the first half.
