Ian Wexler worth a mention surely? Scored a wonder goal in the Showgrounds...I'm still wondering how he managed it.
Life without Rovers, it makes no sense...it's a heartache...nothing but a fools game. S.R.F.C.
Charles Mbabazi Livingstone for me. I'd still have him back, he's only 29.
In the last few years Kalonas was different class, pity West Brom didn't sign him after his trial there - he probably would have got his game for them this season.
Brings back some fantastic memories of the excitement surrounding Derry's entry to the LoI back in 1985. As a Rovers fan I remember some huge crowds travelling to games in Milltown and latterly Dalymount. I was still in school at the time but I even remember getting roped in to sell programmes at Belfield when Derry came to town (unheard of for UCD at the time).
Hopefully the club will be rejuvenated after the recent debacle. The Derry supporters deserve better than they got from the last owners.

Is it me, or are there an awful lot of closet UCD fans about the place?
check the closet so..

Luke Dimach (spelling!!). He was rubbish. I rememeber the hoops bigging him up as the new Kevin Hunt. When the 2 of them met in Tolka, a mate of mine remarked, ' The new Kevin Hunt is spending a lot of time trying to keep up with the old Kevin Hunt '.
I'd rate Australian midfielder Will Hastie as Sligo Rovers' best foreign player in recent years. He was unbelievable in the middle of the park as we won the treble in 94. Boco was a class act for us too, while I'd also give Wes Charles an honourable mention. Not the most subtle of players, but he was always effective, and is a great character and a gentleman to boot.
Seeing as we're moving more towards naming random foreigners (I think there's a general consensus on Kalonas, Livingstone and Ndo when he could be arsed), I'll mention Alban Hysa. I remember him in CM01/02 playing for Dublin City and being of Kosovan/Albanian nationality (and always started the game retired from international football). Born in Tirane apparently, and playing for Mount Merrion till a couple of years ago. Anyone know how he came to be here?

We have had a few decent non British players down through the years.
Ed McIllvenny played for USA in the 1950 World Cup and captained the US in that famous 1-0 win over England in Belo Horizonte. Played for a few seasons with the Blues.
Piotr Suski, midfielder capped 13 times for Poland, member of 1973 League winning side. Signed from LKS Lodz.
Scott Garlich (US) one of the best keepers we ever had, signed by Johnny Matthews in 1994 and ended up staying for 2 seasons. Went back to the US in summer of 1996 and went on to play for DC United, Colorado Rapids and Tampa Bay Mutiny.
Other honourable mentions go to Robert Markovac (YUG) 1993-94, Trond Debes (NOR) 1996-97, Gus di Lella (ARG) 2002, Rodney Jack (SVG) 2005 and Jose Quitongo (POR & ANG) 1994-95 & 2004. Legend.
Remember Robert Markovac alright, as far as I recall he's Croatian, but based in (and probably born in) Australia. That's where he came to us from anyway, there's a mention of him on the North Geelong Warriors wiki page.
Another one was Haakon Johannson (subsequently Winther), also from Norway.
