Well, you were closer with your first estimate (closer to a dozen times in 2 years) than your second estimate of 4 in your last post, but as I said, thats largely irrelevant as its my opinion only that I'm expressing. I find it comical that you question my attendance at games seeing as I have attended more Limerick games than any poster here with the exception of Gary Spain. Excuse me for starting to watch League if Ireland since late 1976. Just to let you know, theres a lot more to being a keeper than being a good shot stopper and gatherer of high balls...but it seems okay for you to judge him second best keeper in the division even though you admit "that his decision making and distribution is nuts". Strange criteria you have there for quality in a goalkeeper.

Perhaps we should just agree that we have very different opinions on what makes a quality goalkeeper, and put the thread back on topic.

Your argument is kind of ridiculous though you give a list of keepers that are better that you have probably never seen going by how many games you said you have been to.If i'm wrong please let me know what keepers in your list you have seen recently.

How does going to games since 1976 have anything to do with it maybe a dozen games in the last 2 years means you know hardly anything if anything about the teams there now.

Of the keepers I mentioned I have seen McNulty, Devine, Bennion, Delaney and O'Neill play in the last three seasons and I rate them all better keepers than Dave Ryan. What part of my opinion do you guys not understand? I'm not asking ye to agree with it, just respect that its my opinion like I respect yours?

It has nothing to do with it...just like the amount of games I have attended in the past two seasons has nothing to do with my opinion on who the best goalkeeper in the league may or may not be. I just don't appreciate being told I know nothing because I dont go to as many games as I used to.

I have nothing against Dave Ryan. I just don't rate him (like a lot of others on here) as much as you and LTID do. Thats all.

I find that hard to believe, you would have been well lamped

    Congratulations on being middle aged????

Just to let you know, theres a lot more to being a keeper than being a good shot stopper and gatherer of high balls
I know Joe, I know. Once again you're confusing being one of the best in the First Division with being top quality.

but it seems okay for you to judge him second best keeper in the division even though you admit "that his decision making and distribution is nuts".
Ah that's not what I said though is it Joe?? You're leaving out the "at times" part, fairly crucial bit too but shur you're bright enough to know that without being told. Hell you were bright enough to leave it out to help your wafer thin argument.

Strange criteria you have there for quality in a goalkeeper.
As opposed to your "Ooh I read somewhere", "someone told me once", "I'm going to games since 1976" criteria??

Perhaps we should just agree that we have very different opinions on what makes a quality goalkeeper
Perhaps we should agree that once again joesoap is talking out his apeture, trying to stir it on the Limerick forum.

Gone way off topic. Feel free to start a thread on goalkeepers if necessary.
