Davey spends too much time waving at the lads in the stand! And for the record dont think much of him either, everytime the ball heads towards our box i get a sinkin feeling.

He's better than Almunia, let us be thankful for that.

Cobh ramblers team is made up of under 18's youth players average age 18, also they had two under 16s and the player who scored is 17 years plus the centerforward that did not kick a ball for 8 months due to injuries that was his first game and what i been told 4 training sessions.
They then had to play another youth game the next day and won 3-0 so in all not a bad performance loosing 2-1 to Limerick.
Spoke to a few of the players said they were threated very well by the Limerick commette .. they are rebuilding a club that has hit rock bottom.
I was also told your fans in the stand were very funny throughout the game and mad...in a good way
so good luck to Dave and his young team for the coming season.

I'm not a huge Davy fan these days but out of that list I'd maybe give you Delaney,

    The rest is nonsense tbf.

It's all a matter of opinion really, so its far from nonsense. You think that Daveys as good as or better than McNulty or Devine, or Bennion? Never in a million years in my opinion and from what I've seen of him he's no better than Austin O'Neill either. The reports I've read about the Monaghan keeper and Waterfords one are very good also.

When and how many times have you seen any of these keepers you say are better?
Not a hope is Austin better than Davy these days not even getting a game with Monaghan.

How many times have any of us seen the keepers we're comparing with Ryan (favourably or otherwise)?

McNulty is mediocre at best which is why he has spent his entire career warming Citys bench until they imploded. A group of the FORAS lads spent half Good Friday evening giving out to me about him.

Devine is finished and has been for a couple of years which is why McNulty is starting ahead of him.

Bennion was never great and always more than capable of a mess up and is also now winding down his career. In fairness he's not an awful shout but the fact Dundalk let him go says a lot.

Austin O'Neill, lovely guy, mediocre keeper, far more capable of moments of clownery than Davy.

Konopka (who is at the age of 25 is finally playing his first ever season as a first choice btw) is dodgy, even the Waherfurr fans will tell you that.

And your opinion is nonsense Joe because I'd safely say you haven't seen Davy play more than a dozen times in the last two years, let alone these keepers you've been hearing good things about.

Davy has his problems imo (for what my opinion is worth!!) his decision making and distribution are at times nuts (Is he being told by the bench to get rid of the ball as quickly as possible or what?!?!) but as a shot stopper and as someone who comes and collects high balls he is very, very, good at this level and I reckon any club in the Division bar Shels would happily do a swap with you.

Aussie, Bennion, Devine and McNulty literally dozens (I even remember when Devine was decent)

Kelly and Delaney, maybe ten or twelve times.

The amount of times I've seen him play is totally irrelevant. From what I've seen, and the general consensus agrees with me, he is not good enough for this standard of football simply because of his inconsistency. And I find it equally nonsensical that you acknowledge that he makes fundamental errors yet say he is the second best goalkeeper in the division.

Anyway, its a matter of opinions. I'll respect yours and leave it at that.

Not at all how can you make a judgement on something or someone you haven't seen.

Thats because the other keepers make more fundamental mistakes.

    Mortified for you Joe.

I'd be amazed if you have seen him play more than four times in the last two years which means your opinion is less valid than probably every single other poster in this thread including Battery Rover.

Go to the odd game Joe, you'd be amazed.

And I find it equally nonsensical that you acknowledge that he makes fundamental errors yet say he is the second best goalkeeper in the division.
Personally I'd have him as the best in the Division, certainly the most desireable to have on your books. Could probably argue Delaney is better but meh.

I find it nonsensical that you think a keeper somehow isn't good enough for League of Ireland Division One because he makes the odd error. Almunia and Boruc off the top of my head are error prone and they would both probably walk into any team in the division.

I also find it nonsensical that you can dismiss a keeper out of hand that you don't watch playing.

Just how high do you think the standard is btw??

Oh that's right you wouldn't have a bulls notion because you don't watch it.
