    Angry Fines

Just wanted to know if any other clubs got fines this week for inadequate pitch enclosures?? Got fined €40 this week for no dug-out's, which is fair enough, and €40 for inadequate pitch enclosure. We are currently renting a facility in Headford. The pitch we play on has an 8-10ft wall on one sideline and both ends and a post and rail fence on the other side. Is an 8-10ft wall not "adequate"? No disrespect to any other facility but it's definitely one of the better enclosures out there. The Mayo League inspected the pitch on the 11th Mayand outlined the difficulties they had with the pitch. We wrote back but to date have not gotten a reply.
The pitch was inspected on a Tuesday and a comment was passed on the report that "no stretcher present".
If they had notified us, we would have been there on the day and made the stretcher available. We're playing again tomorrow and no doubt a further €80 fine will follow. It's very frustrating as like every other club out there, we don't have money for throwing down the drain on fines and it's getting to the stage that you'd wonder if the Mayo League are interested in football or making money. Which is more important?? I think I know the answer to that one.

Have other clubs come across this, and have you any solutions??

Do they actually expect the stretcher to be left on the sideline on a random tuesday afternoon. thats ridiculous.
ive seen that pitch in headford recently and felt everything about the facilities were excellent. that fine is shambolic!

Charlestown well deserved the win. The pitch was SHOCKING. Impossible to play any sort of football.. Doubt its been cut in weeks, Any farmer around that area should go down and have a look at it, they would be guaranteed at least 4 or 5 round bales from it.

    Title Race

Just saw the tables and it would be fair to say that it is now mathamically impossible for Swinford or Ballyheane to win the league.

Well done Charlestown, easily the best team in Division 2, not quite as good as they think they are themselves, but definitly well worthy of going on to win the division.

Congrats on winning the league and being promoted. Can't hide the fact that I don't like ye but results don't lie. Have the Mayo League given you any assurances that you will be promoted anywhere or will you be promoted to Division 2 or 3 or 4????
