Where are Cross playing their home games this year?? Are ye still in Headford??
Cross 0 -2 Charlestown.
Very tough 1st game for both sides, Cross very hard to break down and very unlucky to loose 2 players to injury early on. Charlestown had best chances and scoreline could have bee much worse for Cross if the away side had taken their chances but goals in either half decided this tie. Long way to go and both sides will improve but Charlestown will feel happy with their performance over all and hope to push on from here, espically as Cross would be genuine promotion contenders.
great start for charlestown any other results from yesturday?
Tough game. Ctown def the better team. Very good players on the wings and rock solid in the centre of defence. Cross had some chances and could have scored early in the 2nd half. Saying that Ctown missed some sitters as well. Game played at a very intense pace. Ctown seemed to have a few issues in communication between their goalie and the defenders. I would suggest they need to work these problems out. Great that the season has started again!!
Cross 0 - 2 Charlestown
Ballyvary B B 2 - 0 Swinford 'B'
Glenhest p - p S & F 'B'
Ballyheane 'B' 1 - 3 Claremorris 'B'
Glenisland Void Westport 'C'
Going to be a tough division again this year. Shame about Glenisland pulling out but best of luck to all teams involved. Good away wins for Charlestown and Claremorris. Every team is capable of beating each other on any given day. Dont think there is much between the premier, 1st and 2nd division to be honest. Any opinions on who's favourites to go up/down this season?
charlestown and claremorris will be hard stopped
Any predictions for the comming weekend lads ?
Claremorris b v Swinford b home
S & F b v Ballyvary B B draw
Westport c v Glenhest home
Ballyheane b v Cross Celtic away
Charlestown are a refreshingly honest salt of the earth side and as a neutral forumite, I would strongly favour C'town to win the league this year?? I hear they had some impressive pre-season friendlies in which they came out on top, bar one!! Anyone concur to this post?? Sorry Westport C!!
Never play leapfrog with a unicorn!!
I understand that the central defenders may have been tested in the first half. I only seen 10 minutes of the first half. = so they are strong but have a few weaknesses. BTW who was the number 10 - pretty decent player well capable of playing at a higher level - he will be even better when he gets a bit fitter.

you've been watching too many westport games. 'salt of the earth side' - stop talking crap! their an division two team who have underachieved for years who show little if any honestity to themselves or the club and if you stay with them for 30 mins then more than likely you'll beat them.
Is it true that this division is now considered a 9 team division? That means teams will not get points for fixtures against Glenisland, unlike last year when Ballina Town B withdrew teams were awarded a 3-0 win and 3 points?
[QUOTE=murphs jewels;1347345]Bring it on........ is that why we got to the semi-final of the mayo cup last year[/QUO
