Congrats to Drogheda for clinching such a deal with Hunky Dorys in these tough times. However, judging by the teams performance against UCD last week maybe the club could reconsider the naming rights and get Pfizer on board as sponsors. Viagra Park might keep Drogheda up !!

It's like if someone offered you a thousand Euros to go around wearing a T shirt saying 'I AM A ****'. Most people would do it. In effect Drogheda are being paid to be humiliated. But, for very good reasons, they can't afford to look a gift horse in the mouth. Fair enough. Fans will still call it United Park anyway.
    I'd wear that t-shirt for a fiver.

I don't find it humiliating at all. My wife bought a six pack of Hunky Dory's yesterday. They were lovely. The fact that they indirectly help my club gave me a sense of pride. If you don't want €130k off a major Irish company, then more fool you.
Hunky Dorys Park - could be worse, we could be going to Old Trafford every other week

Its a silly name, but nothing silly about the cash end of it, they have done a very good job securing this, so fair play.

Ps Indo says its 100k, even that is significant.

Drogs fans should be getting pringley with excitement over the name.
Will the wide steps of the terraces be changed to thicker ridges?
Will Drogheda Directors scrub-up for an Official launch name?

There's still plenty of chances to slice and dice their opponents, although I'm afraid as UCD were the last team to play at United Park, the Honky Dory's name will be kinda stale the next time we play up there.

HD Park is sooo New Media.

    Good Luck with it.

It still amazes me how far the Drogs have plummeted in the last couple of years.I'm not saying this deal is bad its brilliant, just getting a point out.

Hows the Claret and Blue club coming along btw?

"even that"? There aren't many 50k/year sponsorship deals in this league.

We've been getting that off Flancare for the last number of years, it was actually up on €75k for a couple of years but still it is a good deal in these times.
Upwards to the vanguard where the pressure is too high.

Im amazed that anyone could think it's a bad thing that they've convinced someone to give them money to name a stadium they don't even own.

    Fair play

That would have been nicer actually. Doesn't really matter, all the fans will call it United Park anyway. Its just aertel and MNS.
