Gary Cronin is he the right man to manage Longford Town?
yeah, the non league sides are invited to fill gaps. I remember Fanad Utd being invited almost every year back in the mid 90s when we had groups of 4

It's the Ulster Senior League Champions that get the invite - Fanad were pretty much USL champions every year in the late 80's and right throughout the 90's. However, there were one or two years where they weren't and Swilly Rovers and Culdaff both featured once each during this time when the season started with the group stages of the League Cup. In the last few years the USL champions have again been invited back into the League Cup and Fanad United, Kildrum Tigers twice and now this year Letterkenny Rovers have featured. The USL is made up of exclusively Donegal based sides. The USL is made up of exclusively Donegal based sides, with the exception of Derry City's Reserve side who have members on various occassions (including now). Apart from Fanad, Culdaff, Swilly Rovers, Kildrum Tigers and Letterkenny Rovers there has been only one other club that has won the USL - that was Harps' Reserve side in 1999.
In recent years, the USL champions record in the League Cup is:
In 2009 Kildrum were beaten 2-1 by Harps in the preliminary round.
In 2008 Kildrum were beaten 6-1 by Sligo Rovers in the first round.
In 2007 Fanad United were beaten 2-0 by Harps in the first round.

Up the Harps!!
I'd say it's inevitable Kerry and Dynamos will be drawn together, with Limerick to follow in round two.
What time is the draw anyway?, the suspense is killing me.
Upwards to the vanguard where the pressure is too high.
I assume it's not gonna be live on the news is it?
I think it's safe to say that won't be the case alright!.
Upwards to the vanguard where the pressure is too high.

Life without Rovers, it makes no sense...it's a heartache...nothing but a fools game. S.R.F.C.
Some of the league fixtures included EA Sports Cup dates the ones I have
Preliminary Round - week-beiginning Monday March 22.
First Round - " " Monday April 12
Second Round - " " Monday May 10
Some fans may consider the expected quarter finalists as
Wexford Yths, Waterford Utd., Sligo Rovers, Galway Utd., St.Pat's Ath/Bray Wands, Shamrock Rvs, Bohemians and Dundalk/Sporting Fingal.
The rest of us will have to see what we can do about that.
" I'll go right up to here,
it can't possibly hurt.
All they will find is my
beer and my shirt."
Away to Athlone again, that'll be three times we have to visit the Temple Of Doom.
Upwards to the vanguard where the pressure is too high.

Although that assumes the quarter finals are an open draw, as I think they usually are.
Am I the only one that thinks the regions could be made out a bit better?
How can you class Harps/Derry/Letterkenny in the same Region as Galway/Mervue/Salthill?
Surely Longford, Athlone and Monaghan are closer to our region.
Sorry Buddy but the Kerry League are in this cup for the last 7 or 8 years at least. They have played Cork, Limerick, Cobh, Waterford, Kilkenny and Wexford youths and have produced some very good results along the way. This year will be different as it is the 1st time they play without the Dyanmos players. If they beat Waterford in 1st round, then they play Dynamos. What a game that would be for the local supporters in Kerry soccer.
