Foster Should fall on his own sword but wont.Contractualy with Dundalk until end of 2011,cash is king, but in a Prem leauge V Div1 scenario the hit to pay him off would be worth it IMO

he seems to be on an exact same run as last season starting great then completely failing away at the end with us just surviving at the end. Im not saying dundalk are on the same path as ye have a better squad than we had last season. Foster only had a plan A and if that failed hoof it !

About 75 at Mervue - Youths. Definitely no more than 80. Not including the sent-off Mervue player who left the ground with 20 minutes to play.

With the greatest of respects, that's a terrible crowd.

I do agree with the idea of having the A Championship, and I respect
Senior League clubs trying to go one step further into League of Ireland
football, but with crowds like that the question has to be asked, how is it
financially feasable for these clubs. I think it is great to see new clubs coming into
the league, but is the support out there ?

I think it boils down to whether or not clubs can pay their way without going heavily into debt. By investing in youth after 4-5 years of bottom dwelling a club can begin to progress and bring in crowds, though whether or not this can happen properly who knows.

15-20 from Wexford. I don't see the point in Mervue wasting money trying to keep themselves in the bottom 3 of the LOI for another season. Give someone else a go, and never allow 3 Galway teams into the LOI at once again! And root out whoever said a Salthill-Mervue derby game would bring a crowd.

Darkglasses they need to have a chance to build, though 3 Galway teams, from an area that the local authorities actively try to kill sport (it's just not culture don't you know) does seem to beg questions.

If they got there on merit let them stay there until somebody else gets past them on merit.

its not that long ago 1998 in fact in Stephen Kennys first game in charge of us only between 50-75 people showed.. This was a regular occurence of our crowds in the mid nineties.. Three short years later we were getting 5-6k at the fai cup semi final replay.. miracles can happen you know..
Gary Cronin is he the right man to manage Longford Town?

I'm not saying they should be booted from the league or anything! I'm just wondering why the club bothers when attendance is so critically low and falling instead of rising. I certainly have my doubts about the players level of interest after their red-carded player wouldn't even stay to watch the whole game.

Though Longford's fans evapourated just as suddenly as they appeared.

They probably told him he had to buy a ticket.

Some very worrying figures there - can we put down the drops to financial worries of supporters?
