BTW I wouldn't expect too many Harps supporters!
I would be surprised if we didn't bring 500 to the Randysmell tonight.

There is alot of folks from the area intending on heading in, ones that wouldn't normally head into Finn Park on a regular basis. I know of one guy who has a car load going in, none of his passengers have been at a Harps game since 2008.
I also have mates asking for a lift even though I couldn't drag them to a normal Harps match.

    I would agree with Sam!!!!!!

Even for N.W. cup games etc,Harps have always brought big crowds to the Brandywell. There are so many Harps P/T supporters who live a lot closer to Derry than ballybofey. They also get a "real match" atmosphere feeling here as well although they are always spread out in every part of the ground so it's more difficult to know how many are there unless you's actually manage to score.

So for a league game I would expect at least 500+ and after the mauling we gave to Salthill at the weekend the biggest home attendance of the season by a country mile even though there is a non event happening in Glasgow at the same KO time.
So if you think Bohs are big read this. http://www.astronomy.ie/perpespective.html

    I would say about 3000 at Derry-Harps

Hard to know how many Harps fans were there, we filled section A and half of Section B and had a good few around the terraces too. First half was a cracking atmosphere.

I'd agree with this. I thought about 2,500 to be honest and a post on the Derry forum suggested the same figure. Certainly no more than 2,500 - 3,000. Still a great crowd, although a bit disappointing considering the previous attendances when these clubs met.
    Up the Harps!!

Jayz - is that cos it was a Tuesday, or is your form beginning to take its toll already?

I'll wait see if any of the Derry lads has an official figure before doing an update.

Pat's have put a couple of attendances on their site; I assume they're official, so I'll replace the other figures we had with them. We had 1207 for Drogheda, 1900 for Sligo and 3400 for Rovers.

I dont think form has much to do with it although obviously we'd get higher if we were top of the league

Tuesday combined with no one seeming to know who Salthill Devon are.

Weekday games have always killed us, for some reason people just wont come out, should be back up/over 2000 for the Derry game but the League cup game next Tuesday will be poor again.

A lot of guys I work with bring their kids on a Friday but week nights don't suit if its a school night.
Probably no harm to get a game against the likes of Salthill out of the way on a tuesday and save the Derry game for a Friday night.
I reckon we could do 3-4000 on Friday week.

    .
Aside from the fact it was a school night and also the unknown quantity that is Salthill Devon, there were numerous games fixed for last night in the various leagues across the city and county.

Not a ****ing chance there was that many there ! even including the Gardai, Fire Brigade, Match stewards there wasn't that many there

Max of 300 there last night. The main stand holds about 500-600 i'd say, wasn't close to being full and there was only about 30/40 people standing

I was wondering what the hell that was about.

Do people in Cork enjoy watching rain? Bit of a novelty in the sunny south east?

The way the game was going at times last night, it would have been refreshing.
