Ah stu give it a rest will ya. The stand was nearly full to the brim and people standing outside the stand also. 812 sounds spot on. I really have no idea, why as a mod you carry on this way, its a bit of a joke. You know the stand was nearly full. I guess you get bored and like to get a rise out of various posters and as iv mentioned you do this as a mod. Ridiculous really. I wonder how long this post will stay up without you altering it or taking it down altogether.

I thought I heard 2,500 announced at the game last night, thought there was a lot more, stand was full and our section was basically full bar a few empty spaces
    Here on a technicality.

It's still a good crowd. Sligo are a good club. Be great to see them build on this season. They already are the number one club in their province.

Seriousl)n where were these 800 people? Cos the 800-capacity stand was half-full, the far side was empty and there weren't 400 standing around.
Stu, there were 20-odd UCD fans in the "away" section, probably I'm underestimating that as there were a few kids who were moving about. 800 would be about right, and there were a few UCD supporters scattered around the place. One thing that surprised me was seeing old time Shamrock Rovers fans there. I knew 2 who are with Northside schoolboy clubs and were there as SF fans. They were text happy throughout the game.

    80 at Athlone-Limerick? That can't be serious.

Great crowd in Wexford tonight, about 550 I'd say. Really good travelling support from Cork, maybe 100 or more?

Yep, sorry my mistake, and your're right that was around 4,000 in march 2009, our first home PD game in 7 years, and a great drogs turn out too. Sunday afternoon and Mon night in 2010 were just crazy dates for such high profile games.

Iv met one of those guys you are talking about (well I assume its one of them). He has been a life long Rovers fan but felt he had to get behind his local team. He was saying to us how he always has mixed feelings when we play Rovers. Gentleman actually.

A life-long Shams fans yet, he went to another game instead of watching Shams win they're first league title in years?

    Life-long fan, yeah right.

Did you not read the words has been a life long Rovers fan, as in past tense. He now supports his local team (which he has done for the last 3 years). It would be so easy for him to turn his back on fingal and head back to watching Rovers in their lovely new stadium but instead he chose to stick with fingal in morton and you are trying to critisize him? I think it shows true loyalty.

I dont think turning your back on a team which 'he has been a life long fan' of just beacause he lives somewhere else would be described as showing true loyalty. And its dublin ffs its not as if he is living in tibet. If he was a 'life long fan; he should find a way of going to tallaght or at least not support a team which next year will be one of therir biggest rivals for trophies.

Well I guess we have different interpretations on it so.
Basically at the end of the day its down to the person and if he felt that supporting fingal was what he wanted to do because he felt the need to support his local team then i think thats a good thing, you think differently.

As for the dublin thingy, pointless point really. The different areas of Dublin are just that different and people feel affiliated to what ever area they are from hence why there are different clubs for different areas in Dublin and also some of the biggest rivalries in the league. This guy feels more afilliated to the region of fingal so now that there is finally a club there he supports it, simples
