I actually think trap has done well here. Do we really want Wilson's debut to be starting against Brazil, being tortured for an hour, then being taken off? It could destroy the kids confidence before he gets going. Far better that McShane takes that particular bullet, and we can see Wilson get his first start in beside Dunne in May. Perhaps Duffy might even go on for him after an hour or so, and Wilson walks off to a standing ovation

Yes I had been looking for a stream for the UK, then I checked the TV guide on the off chance channel 4 or 5 might be covering it, I was a but surprised (but delighted)
to discover ITV were covering it at primetime, very unusal for them to cover an Ireland match, moreso a friendly, however I expect it has a lot to do with the opposition Brazil so the pundits can discuss England facing them in the World Cup Final!!

    Decent start....

Although what's Robbie doing back in midfield?! :S

Anyone else back us?... 6/1 was just too big IMO

Terrible crowd, its like an under age international

Who's co-commentating with George Hamilton?.... sounds a SMALL bit like Townsend, he made reference to ''us'' as in he was Irish

We're doing well so far but Kilbane is a big liability at left back, as ever.

Matter of time before they catch us on the break down their right wing.

The mexican wave is doing the rounds at the moment.
Watching it on a polish stream in Germany myself.
Great quality, pity about the language
All I can understand is that he mentions Delap every time we get a throw-in in their half.

Decent first half performance but Kilbane & McShane look like they could cost us a goal at any stage.

unlucky, was it just offside? hard one to call. Thought we have done pretty well so far.
I like high energy football. A little bit rock and roll. Many finishes instead of waiting for the perfect one.

Well thats that, in terms of winning, we'll never get two, best we can hope for is a draw.

That has to be the smallest/weakest CB pairing in world football

Another good performance, though we are losing the run of ourselves and committing too many players forward for set-pieces considering it was 0-0, we were caught on the break a few times. Doyle doing well, so's Andrews and Whelan in the middle.

    From RTE.IE

44 mins GOAL: Brazil break swiftly as Kaka feeds Maicon. The right-back slips the ball past the Irish back four and to Robinho. He is in on goal and turns a shot goalward. Glenn Whelan attempts to clear but instead turns the ball goalwards and over Given. Robinho looked very much offside and that is hard on Ireland. Own-goal Whelan. 1-0 Brazil.

Kilbane nowhere to be seen for the goal although in fairness it still required a stroke of bad luck for them to score.

I'm watching on Fox Sports World Stu, you probably have it too. Channel 156 here in Alberta.

Robinho CLEARLY offside. A yard ahead of his marker when the ball was played through. No question.

i do CR, yeah but im at work so watching on a (decent) stream. It looked to me as though his body was offside but his feet werent but youre watchin it on TV so you probably have a far better view of it.

    Brazil girls are so hot.

where in Alberta are you by the way??

Home of the world's most famour outdoor rodeo! That should give you a decent clue, as most of Saskatchewan live here.

"any part of his head, body or feet is nearer to his opponents' goal line than both the ball and the second last opponent. The arms are not included in this definition."

So even though his feet might have been level, it is any part of the body bar the arms. There really was no question, he was at least a yard off. You'll see it on the replays.

Getting a bit of a chasing the longer the game goes on after a good first half. Just can't hold onto the ball at the moment.

Game opening up & we're starting to struggle badly, terrible mistakes by St Ledge, McShane (as predicted), & Andrews. Lucky to only be 1 down.
