    First Choice XI's

With most of the squads taking shape & a few friendlies under each sides belt what are the first choice XI's going to be like for each side?

    I reckon Pats will be

    -----------Connor---------
    Lynch Guthrie Kenna Bermingham
    Guy---Byrne--- Mulcahey--Coughlan
    ----Faherty-------Williams

Pretty certain in all areas bar midfield where Mahon may go for the experienced pair I have there or a combination of either of those with Sinnott or McAllister

    I'd guess:

    Brush

    Whelan/Keane, Peers, Almeida, Davoren,

    McCabe, 2 of Doninger/O'Grady/Ventre/Ryan, Doyle,

    Amond, Blinkhorn.

    For Harps, I'd guess:

    Ciaran Gallagher
James Doherty - Jonathan Minnock - Packie Mailey - Matthew Crossan
Michael Funston - Shaun McGowan - Johnny Lafferty - Marc Brolly
Davitt Walsh/Stephen McLaughlin - Kevin McHugh
    Up the Harps!!

Hmm, when all are fit I'd hazard a guess at

    Aaron Shanahan

    Derek Tyrell
    Philip Byrne
    Chris Deans
    Gary Cronin

    JP McDonagh
    Ryan McEvoy
    John Lester
    Cathal Brady/Fiachra McArdle

    Derek Glynn
    Peter Hynes

David Freeman could be slotted in in midfield or up front somewhere as well.
Upwards to the vanguard where the pressure is too high.

Probably similar to last year -

    -------------Barron----------------
    Harding-----Ev---Boyle---Shortall
    Mulhall---Corry---Creevy--Ward
    ------McMillan------Kilduff-------

Bolger, Nangle and McMahon would be the main ones pushing for a starting spot, I think.

I would guess along the same lines although I would definitely prefer McLaughlin to Walsh and it looks like Mark Moran is going to be getting a run at left mid tonight so maybe he is going to replace Brolly in the 1st XI.

I would have thought McAllister would have to get the nod....Class footballer, but of course I have not seen Pats in preseason.

I only managed to get to one pre season friendly and McAlister was playing right wing, Didnt have a good game, would have liked to seen him in the midde of the park
    Here on a technicality.

PLayed in centre v Bray. played well I thought. As I said elsewhere I think Mahon will start with the experienced pair with a view to establishing a solid base. Personally hope Sinnott gets a decent amount of playing time
