Looks like Gartland played well too, judging by the report and scoreline.
Got his first goals for St. Johnstone last night:

His hold up play for the 1st and 3rd were great too. Particularly the 1st.
Would have been good to give him the penalty at the end, and let him get his hatrick. It was 4-1 at that stage and hibs were down to 10.
Good goal for Stokes as well, though Gartland won't hbe happy with this defending on it.
Bring Back Belfast Celtic F.C.
I don't see Sheridan making it sadly but Stokes is doing the right things this season
scored the opener against Rangers tonight - St. Johnstone currently leading 3-1.
edit: more on the goal from the match report.6:46 GOAL - Cillian Sheridan:
St Johnstone 1 - 0 Rangers Cillian Sheridan finds the net with a goal from the edge of the penalty box to the bottom right corner of the goal. St Johnstone 1-0 Rangers.Danny Grainger's long ball down the inside-left channel dropped over the shoulder of Sheridan and the striker's whipped shot across goal hit both posts before nestling in the net.

I like high energy football. A little bit rock and roll. Many finishes instead of waiting for the perfect one.
That was some goal I thought. Don't think he's near the Ireland squad, but it's good for him to get going this season.
EDIT: Removed the word "finally" from the last sentence. Didn't realise he had just turned 21.

first two goals (including Sheridan's) here: http://tinypic.com/player.php?v=rw1nkg&s=5
Some strike in fairness, he must have seriously enjoyed that one. Crazy result just a week after Celtic's mauling.
Fabulous goal. Pity Gartland wasn't playing.

I thought you were off the drink Ronnie?

Gartland's stats for the season
played every game up until the end of January, apart from a 3 game suspension, but he's only started four games sinceCode:Home Away Total Starting Player Starts 11 14 25 Completed Games 11 12 23 Substitutions 0 2 2 Substitute Player Started On Bench 2 1 3 Introductions 0 0 0 Unused Substitute 2 1 3 Goals Goals 1 1 2 Penalties 0 0 0 Total Scored 1 1 2 Own Goals 0 0 0 Discipline Bookings 3 4 7 Sendings Off 1 0 1
I'm working on getting the Irish Abroad site running again after a pretty horrendous failure, but it's a slow process with a whole bunch of other stuff taking priority at the moment
That goal is so good that even after watching the replay numerous times I am not too sure if the ball went high into the net or low into the net (could be my eyesight though)
Cilian, you have to give the goalkeeper a fighting chance these trick shots are just not fair
definitely low
Subbed off tonight around the 65 minute mark, in a relatively poor game against Dundee Utd. He didnt do much to be honest, a tame left peg effort from just inside the box and some decent hold up play / channel running but nothing to write home about.
Jon Daly bagged another though, with a bullet header.
Dundee Utd won 1-0

He scored a brace today.

Good to see that he doesn't just rely on his height to score goals. A target man that can score with his feet too would be a welcome addition to the Irish squad. Early days yet but at least he is starting to score a few and hopefully he'll develop enough over the next 2-3 seasons to be considered international standard.
Anyone know if he's said anything about a return to Celtic next season or if they plan on loaning him out again?
We will probaby have to wait and see who gets the Celtic job first.

Exactly! After yesterdays result (loss to Ross County in the semi final of the cup) I think much of the positive vibes amongst the fans about Lennon getting the job will disappear and the overriding thoughts of him being a good Celtic guy but not ready to become manager will rise to the surface again.
Sheridan in the past has given out the standard response ...."enjoying his time on loan, getting games under his belt but hopes to get back to Celtic and stake his claim for a first team spot"
The problem with all these changes in Management is the risk that he might fall through the cracks and doesnt quite get the break he maybe deserves. If he's talented enough (and thats still a question for me) he'll get a chance somewhere if not Celtic.

In fact, comments pretty much as I posted above in this short interview after his last game.

I'm surprised that Sheridan seemed to rank ahead of Best in Trap's thinking in May.
