Most intelligent band on the planet. Market themselves to anti-capitalist morons and then charge them obscene amounts of money to see them live.
Thatcher would be proud.

Wow, one gig that is more of a PR exercise than anything else
Always wanted to go see them but it is a bit pricey. They could have put the prices around the 40 mark very easily and still made a lot of money off it.
they played a free gig at the Democratic National Convention in 2000: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2000_DN...achine_concert
and audioslave (made up of former RATM members, plus Chris Cornell) played a free gig in Cuba: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Live_in_Cuba
All of which just plays up to their leftie credentials and doesn't negate my point that they rip off their fans no?
just pointing that the London gig isn't the only time they've played for free
some interesting stuff about their activism on their wikipedia page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rage_Ag...s_and_activism
on being signed to Sony, Tom Morello had this to say
When you live in a capitalistic society, the currency of the dissemination of information goes through capitalistic channels. Would Noam Chomsky object to his works being sold at Barnes & Noble? No, because that's where people buy their books. We're not interested in preaching to just the converted. It's great to play abandoned squats run by anarchists, but it's also great to be able to reach people with a revolutionary message, people from Granada Hills to Stuttgart.
Must be greater still for these millionaires to charge 'the converted' so much for a two hour session during a recession
